Save Ardrossan Harbour – A Lifeline for Our Community
Ardrossan Harbour is more than just a port—it is the heart of a community, a bridge to the islands, and a symbol of our shared history. Losing it would mean losing a vital part of our way of life.
For generations, this harbour has connected families, supported livelihoods, and provided safe passage for those traveling between the mainland and Arran. It has welcomed fishermen at dawn, waved off ferries filled with islanders and visitors, and stood strong against the tides of time. It is not just bricks and mortar—it holds the memories of every goodbye and every welcome home.
Closing or downgrading Ardrossan Harbour will hurt real people—elderly residents who rely on it for essential travel, workers who depend on its routes, and small businesses that thrive because of it. Families will be cut off, opportunities will be lost, and a once-thriving maritime hub will be left to decay.
We cannot let this happen. We cannot let bureaucracy or short-sighted decisions erase a piece of our heritage. We must stand together to protect what has always been ours.

The current Troon arrangement does not work - less sailings, inconvenient for foot passengers, no train nearby. We need Ardrossan link and we need it now. The lack of political will to sort this up until now is impacting on our human rights as islanders
Ardrossan Harbour has been part of the community for decades. It is a well known harbour due to the ferry leaving there for Arran, and caters to thousands every year. It will be such a shame if Ardrossan harbour is no longer used. I've lived in Ardrossan my whole life and the harbour has been an iconic place throughout all these years. It also serves as a gateway for the people who live on Arran to come to the mainland for work, medical care etc.
