My kids, Husband and I are all avid mountain bikers and live in the region. We depend upon the state and regional planners to offer support for a diverse offering of outdoor recreational activities including hiking, biking and running trails. Thank you for helping support the shaker Ridge Trails project, this is a wonderful project for our area!
We plan our weekends trips around bike trails like these. If this gets built we will definitely be making day trips, weekend trips, and maybe even longer stays in the area. We appreciate communities that invest like this and are happy to spend our vacation funds there.
I grew up in Avon and road the Nepaug State a forest a lot 20-25 years ago. I would always remark to myself how much potential the area had for incredible mountain bike trails. Incredibly cool to see the trails being built and the great energy of the community. I wish I could make it back to check it out!
As a Pottsville resident, this trail would be a fabulous addition to the area. Walking around town can be treacherous with uneven pavement and frequent stops with traffic lights. A three-mile loop would be heaven sent and a safe place for people to exercise and explore. Plus, as an environmental educator, it would place a great reaching location in an urbanized area, helping bring those into nature who may need it most.
