As a survivor of conversion therapy, there is nothing humane, helpful, or life saving about this type of treatment. I’ve spent the last decade with clinically diagnosed PTSD from this “care”. <br>

SalazarConversion "therapy" is not therapy, it is an abhorrent practice that needs to be treated criminally due to the amount of harm it inflicts on the client and their friends and family. Such "treatment" has been shown to increase depression, anxiety, and suicidality to name a few. Inflicting this abusive and life altering "therapy" upon children that are vulnerable, questioning, or identify as LGBTQ+ is particularly heinous. It is a reprehensible black mark in the history of counseling and needs to be treated as such.

It's abhorrent that an adult would try to forcibly change a minor's sexual orientation or gender identity and argue it as "free speech."

SalazarI was diagnosed with SMI in my late 20s and I know that for people suffering from mental illness, life can be dead serious, and life can be terribly unfun. I believe that allowing people to access art therapy, they can benefit by being allowed to exercise the creative and fun side of their selves that their mental illness often prohibits.
