There is nothing worse than having a person in power, who speaks on behalf of your community, say such hateful and negative things without remorse or empathy.
Amity supported: Call on CR Aitken to resign his position as Burnie City Councillor
So this person is supposed to behave a way that is represent to the people who elected him and held to a standard. Not only is the council condoning this behaviour by not having him removed but he is putting a target for members of any minority group to be vulnerable to hate crimes. Lets not forget this guy has also targeted people who are homeless and disabled.

As someone who has taught trans children within our community, it breaks my heart that people in power spout this nonsense. Walk a mile in their shoes to see the pain you are inflicting on them, their families and their friends

As the parent of a transgender child I am absolutely disgusted by the statements I have read from this man. It appals ne to know that such hatred and vitriol are currently being accepted in local government.

This is about so much more than the handful of young people who may get drafted to play for their home team. This is about hope that we can be a progressive and exciting community in which to live and work. Kill this opportunity off and watch the mass exodus of our future tax paying young people leave when they will know once and for all that there is little hope for them in this welfare-ridden basket case of a state. Watch also as a fair few of us older tax payers follow suit.

This stadium is not just for us now, it's for the next generation and the generation after that. It will change Tassie for the better and set the Devils up for the best chance for success.

It’s about providing benefits for Tasmania, not just football, but the economy and employment for many decades to come - construction, hospitality, accommodation, transport, airlines, retail and much more. It also makes Tasmania complete all States being involved in a National competition. At last an opportunity to not be left off the map. Make it happen.

Tasmania needs their own AFL team and without a quality stadium in its capital city it won’t happen it’s the right place for it at MAC point and the benefits it could provide could be a great asset to the state and provide many an aspiring junior footballer with dreams of becoming an AFL player from their home state and also being able to support their team also the many other concerts and functions not to mention employment and economic benefits as well just get it done I for one along with my family will travel to games from the North of the state

It has been a life long dream to watch Tasmania play in the AFL. An AFL team will have enormous social and economic benefits. To achieve this an inner city stadium is required. This is what the expert taskforce report said. Mac. Pt. Isn't perfect, but it's the best site.
