My husband pointed LD to me when my physician said I needed to kick the soda habit. No sugar, no artificial sweeteners...it became a regular in our house... and then I had a heart attack the end of last year and my Doctor said I absolutely needed to kick my soda habit. I loved it. It was perfect. I really didn't miss the sugary taste of soda and loved the texture and the taste of the water itself. The company even came out with a grapefruit flavor which was perfect and then all of a sudden I bought a case of liquid death and it tasted strange. So I read the ingredients and low and behold...Stevia. In the past, its caused stomach and intestinal issues along with headaches, so I just avoid it. There are so many products that contain Stevia. I'm surprized LD traded their uniqueness to be another cog in the wheel. Maybe liquid death might be to do two different recipes...an old formula and a new formula so that those who want Stevia can have it and those of us who love the old formula with just the Agave juice and water can also have that too. Just throwin' it out there. That would probably be my solution. But I'm not in marketing. I'm just a medical researcher that's looking for a solution to my own problem. Right now I hope liquid death listens. If not I might just go back to my Canada Dry.
The stevia makes the drinks taste horrible….this drink went from being #1 stocked in my house to being avoided like the plague do to it’s horrible aftertaste. If you want to attract a new group of people in to your market, feel free and do so like every other drink by offering that option, but don’t punish your loyal customers who fell in love with your original recipe by taking it completely off the shelves. Please bring back the original formula.
I supported this brand heavily. I am sick with a Liver Disease that will eventually take my life called PSC. I drank LD as an alternative to fake sweetener drinks as I couldn't drink many options. Stevia & I have a rough relationship. So when I found out they snuck this into their drinks, I was so disappointed. This needs to stop here. Please go back to the original recipe choices, for 5 years straight I drank your drinks exclusively up until these recent changes.
I've been drinking Liquid Death for a few years now, after their marketing finally got me to try it. I loved the tallboy cans and that the only ingredients were carbonated water, flavoring, and agave. It was different than anything else I'd had and it really did encourage me to drink more water.
However, with this change to adding stevia and getting rid of the tallboys, I have no reason to continue drinking LD. They are now no different than any other "diet soda", and I can find other stevia drinks that are cheaper and taste better than the new formula of LD.
As someone who has a reaction to stevia, I get severe stomach pain, this caught me by surprise. There are not many options out there that do not use stevia lately, and LD was always a reliable choice. I saw it first in the Doctor Death and Killer Cola but the they snuck it into my go to, the Severed Lime. I don’t need it to be sweet, it was perfect how it was.
