Supporting the elderly in the community is very important. It could be your parent, your grandparent. The bowling club is a huge part of life for some members and to expel an elderly person is simply cruel.
Southend have gone through a really rough last few years nearly going out of business. The club and fans deserve this occasion just like the Oldham fans. It should be our choice how we get to Wembley. Most clubs will never get there so let us both have 30000 tickets
Dear Southend MP Bayo Alaba,
I too am a former member of the Parachute Regiment, albeit 10th battalion 44 Brigade, a long time ago.
I am also a member of the International Association of Lions Clubs and have organised International Youth Camps, so we have a lot in common. I am also a great supporter of Southend Utd football Club, but I am not a season ticket holder. I and thousands of others in your constituency are having huge problems being able to follow Southend United to Wembley.
Please can you join with your right honourable colleagues David Burton-Sampson, and Debbie Abrahams, Jim McMahon, and the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham who will ask on behalf of Oldham Football supporters.
PLEASE lobby those who are suggesting the closure of Wembley Park Tube Station will seriously limit the health & safety of would-be spectators, such that the crowd allowed into Wembley must be restricted. What a ridiculous claim and infringement of your constituents' rights to follow our team to Wembley.
Do these people not know that rugby matches at Twickenham are serviced by just one train station and allow crowds of 80,000?
Tottenham Hotspurs FC have only 1 local train station and many, many other famous football stadiums too.
Kind Regards, Paul Withers.
As a Southend fan I know for a fact that Oldham and Southend can bust the 60k mark on ticket sales regardless of travel why should the clubs be hampered by the miscommunication of TFL and the London Mayor when this is a important part of both clubs history books. This is a massive game and the allocation is well within unreasonable sort this out and open the whole 90k and watch it sell out unlike recent England games and concerts there
My Nan took me to the first ever match at Roots Hall in 1955, This was against Norwich City, As a 10 year old, I was hooked. Spent many seasons watching from the terraces. I now live in Nottinghamshire, but, am still Southend through and through. I would love to go to Wembley with my other half. Unfortunately, this opportunity seems to have been denied to me because of current events. Such a great shame, And, I am sure I am not on my own.
