For me, this is just more greed. I'm 72 years old and have flown many times and having luggage in anyone's flight is a necessity - a given. To make customers pay for their baggage is just one more loss as we pay more and receive less for being a flying customer.

I have been a loyal Southwest customer for many years. I have been flying SWA almost exclusively since 2018 and am a A-lister, due to my frequent flying. Free bags and even more important to me is my credits never expiring. I am deeply upset about these changes and questioning my loyalty. I picked SWA based on these things EVEN WHEN THE FLIGHTS COST MORE!! I am so saddened by these changes and wondering if my loyalty does not matter to SWA? The main flights I take are no longer direct since Covid (while other airlines offer direct flights, often at lower prices!), The flexibility with never expiring credits, free bags, friendly staff including awesome skycap service -especially in San Diego (shout out to David!) are some of the main reasons I have stayed with SWA. I love my A-List status also. I change my flights around all the time. If these perks are removed, why not go to an airline that provides more perks-like chargers on the seats, direct flights, movie screens on the seats, more space between seats? Southwest, please rethink this before you lose your whole customer base!!! Thank you and God bless.

As a single dad, my daughter and I rely on Southwest to take us to see family every year. We fly Southwest because of the bag policy. This is the main reason. Please continue to offer this, many people count on it.

This is probably pointless since Southwest has already made it clear they don't care what their customers think. They would never make these ridiculous policy changes in the first place if they did. But hey, it doesn't hurt to try. Southwest, for years I have been a loyal customer and Rapid Rewards member specifically because your policies set you apart from other airlines. Many times I could have chosen another airline with a better selection of flights, but I would choose the less convenient Southwest flight because of all the other benefits your airline offered. It truly seemed like Southwest put its customers AND employees first. Now, Southwest is turning it's back on both. It's truly disappointing and makes me hesitant to book with Southwest in the future. I really hope you will listen to what your customers are saying and reconsider these policy changes. The benefits you are taking away are what made Southwest so great.

I have been a loyal southwest customer for many years but not for much longer! No free bags and now according to what I’m reading our rewards points are going to expire 😩 I’m 75 years old now and don’t fly as much as I once did so if the points are going to expire the rewards program is no benefit to me! I’ll also be getting rid of my Southwest credit card because it has an annual fee and I don’t need a card with an annual fee that is no benefit to me! I’m looking for a new airline and I don’t know much about them because I’ve only flown Southwest for over 30 years!

SWA has always been my go-to carrier for the exact reasons they are eliminating—boarding procedures, no baggage fees and making things right when problems and snafus did occur. I would drive 1-2 hours to NEW or JAN to fly SWA instead of GPT, 30 minutes away, because SWA was “my” airline of choice, hands down. In light of the changes that the private equity groups are now making regarding the ensh*ttification of the customer experience at SWA, why would I continue to go out of my way to fly with y’all? I can use the gas money I don’t spend driving to an SWA hub on the the bag fees/seat upgrades and fees that the local carriers do closer to home…

Southwest's bag policy is what has kept them relevant. It felt like a nice respite in a sea of predatory budget airlines looking to shake you down at every turn. This decision would be bad for business. It'd be like Costco increasing the cost of rotisserie chickens and hot dogs.

I really love your open seat policy. I've been flying with Southwest since I was a kid in the 90s and early 2000s. It's the reason I fly Southwest, because I can choose where I get to sit. I never have to worry about my seat being changed. Please keep open seating. Thank you for hearing me out.

Musicians rely on 2 Free Checked Bags to make touring feasible financially. As a guitarist, I always utilize 1 checked bag for my pedalboard, and 1 checked bag for luggage. Additionally, carrying on my instrument on the plane. This new policy will make it impossible to travel with the gear I need to do my job without being prohibitively expensive, which will cause a ripple effect across the industry of musicians and bands being able to put even less money back in their pockets when it's already breadcrumbs for most. This change is selfish on Southwest Airlines’ part and they should eliminate this policy before it even starts, as well as assigned seating. Both policies make it extremely difficult for traveling musicians. Assigned seating causes musicians to choose between paying even more money for an early seat on the plane, or possibly be left without room in the overhead bins for their instruments, which would cause them to be forced to gate check their instruments being handled by baggage handlers who often damage and destroy musical instruments with careless handling.

We LOVE flying into and out of Bellingham on Southwest Airlines! We travel from Las Vegas to Bellingham 4-6 times a year to visit grandkids. They fly to see us 2-3 times per year, especially during the fall and winter months. It has become quite challenging to visit without Southwest as there are no great options. Please, please, please resume your flights to BLI!
