When my dear sister found she had cancer SHE WAS DEAD WITHIN A YEAR 9 months moving testing to every 5 years will take many Mothers from there Children THAT COULD BE WITH THEM TODAY SAVE LIVES AND TEST EVERY 12-18 MONTHS AS CANCER CAN KILL IN A YEAR OR LESS WHY DO YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR A TEST 3-5 YEARS MANY MANY WILL BE LEFT TO DIE
This petition is so important for all women to get behind. As a 34 year old, with two kids, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in January of this year, I count myself so lucky that it was caught early on at a cervical screening. I've had a radical hysterectomy, 5 weeks of radiotherapy and 3 sessions of Brachytherapy and am now starting to feel myself again! Just waiting on the all clear from my specialist next month. I dread to think what would have happened if I'd had to wait 5 years between screenings, my kids might have grown up without a mother. Sign the petition & get your cervical screening ladies! X
I was HPV negative, but I had CIN 3 cells. I needed laser treatment to remove them otherwise they would have turned cancerous at some point. You can be HPV negative and still get cancer, the screens should be no more than 3 year apart
I know cervical screening costs money but can you put a price on finding cancer early and treating it. Cancer has a much greater chance of developing & becoming more serious over 5 years, rather than 3
Plz don't change this my daughter is 33 years of age and is dying she as 2 beautiful girls who won't see them grow up or have children of their own I've watched my daughter suffer this horrible disease for over a year the treatment is so painful she as weeks left.
Musgrove Park hospital Maternity Unit will be stretched even further with the closure of the Yeovil Unit. Mothers in Yeovil need to give birth close to where they live not miles away!!So most of them will be sent to MPH where my daughter is due to give birth in September. It’s about time more was being done to sort this problem out. More midwives are needed and supported to do their essential work safely. The stress these nurses are under is driving them away and mothers and babies are being put at risk. Things were never like this 40 years ago when I had my children in Exeter. We were really well looked after then. This country is broken and the NHS is run as a business now not a service.
My youngest son and my grandson's were born in Yeovil hospital. I feel for the pregnant women who are now left in a lot of stress, worrying about what happens now, mothers and babies will be put in more risk of travelling miles away.
Both of my children were born at this hospital, and it’s the only place where we’ve experienced true continuity of care. Closing it due to resource constraints would deeply impact families in our community and place even greater strain on the already limited services we have left.
Please, let’s protect and support the vital care we do have—don’t take it away.
There is no way that a 45-60 minute drive or an hourly bus service is appropriate for someone in Labour - but that's exactly what they will face if they have to go to Taunton.
Yeovil already suffers massively from a lack of services relative to the population, and a poor location with poor transport links across the board. Going to Taunton or Bristol for certain services is already common - let's not make it worse and force people in an urgent situation to travel that distance.
