My grandma and grandpa had a service dog and he saved my grandparents from needing home health care for awhile. He almost got attacked multiple times and he was literally helping take care of my grandparents so he was helping so much more than if they didn't have him. Some people don't realize how important service dogs are and how a lot of service dog can literally save someone's life's multiple time.
As a Service Dog handler, I can say I’m not the only one who gets anxious when another dog is out of control lunging at my dog. Service Dogs are specifically trained to help people with a disability, but when we see another dog in public, I find it like a slap in the face showing absolutely no respect for us handlers. Plus, it’s not just the fault of the untrained dog’s handler, but also the store. Target is allowing every dog they see come into the store, including aggressive dogs, protection dogs, regular pets, and more. It would be such a great help to make stores JUST Service Dog friendly, like they used to be!
I am a service dog handler and what target is doing is unfair and unlawful. every target store has some sort of SERVICE ANIMAL ONLY sign on the door. the sign is noticeable. it frustrates me that if i want to go to target, i am put at risk of my dog getting attacked or distracted by a fake service dog or a PET in a non pet friendly store. please enforce your laws. i have seen many pets in your store. i have seen pets in shopping carts. not only is bring a pet into a store illegal but putting an animal in a shopping cart that can carry food and produce items is disgusting. this doesn’t just go for target, but many other stores too but you need to enforce your laws. it is essential that a new employee knows the rules of the store and how to handle a situation or when to call the manager. ever staff member needs to be better educated. please stop this. ENFORCE THE RULES THAT YOU PUT IN PLACE!!
I have had dogs as family members for my entire life. They have all enhanced my life greatly. I have loved them, each and every one of them. They have been my best friends.
