We’ve live here for 7+ years and have had multiple things stolen. We have friends that have had many things stolen including a vehicle. We live in Hemet & I believe security in a high end resort such as this is a requirement
My daughter is one of those “security guards” and I’ve heard what she has to go through trying to keep the riff raff out of there and she’s done an awesome job…at this point she’s very concerned for the residents which have become like family to her…what is this guy thinking!
The security gate is one of the amenities that attracted me to the property. Without it, I believe that the homeless population will soon figure out that there’s no barrier between them and us and our safety well-being and property will be at risk.
I like living here and I’m grateful to have a secure place to live
We love Golden Village Palms for a variety of reasons. Beside the wonderful amenities we came here because we felt more secure here because of the full time security and the surrounding wall. At the last RV park we stayed at in Menifee my mine snd my wife’s electric bikes were stolen. We could stay at that park for free but we would rather stay here and pay just to feel secure. Thank you for having such a lovely park and we do hope you will make the decision to keep your full- time security . Thank you.
Since coming to GVP, the management has repeatedly drilled into us that we are a family at GVP, residents & staff. These are people we care about, our friends & neighbors, who have worked to keep us safe and have done a damn fine job. Going through with this action will solidify that GVP is not a family at all.
As a mother of 3 young children, 2 of which have recently started attending public schools in Ohio, it’s a terrifying and sobering thought that our children are even at risk of harm while being at school, a place of learning & mandatory under Ohio law. Our children are put through drills for an active shooter just the same as a fire or tornado drill, starting in preschool/kindergarten. Our children have to refrain from wearing light up shoes, or anything else that may make them stand out while attending school, and we have to talk about the reality of an active crisis at home to make sure they understand the seriousness of what these precautions are for. I believe that our teachers, administration, SROs, etc should all be mandated to be trained with a firearm and carry one at all times during school hours and during any period that students are on school property. Our teachers should be able to protect our children with the proper amount of force, and by having firearms & training, they aren’t just sitting ducks for a tragedy waiting to happen. Parents, children & teachers alike should be able to feel confident that while they’re at school, they’re protected & safe. If something were to happen, we want to know that our children will make it home & our teachers will make it back to their families everyday. Teachers in our state are already putting themselves in the position to protect our students, let’s help them and give them what they need to do so correctly.
Doug has been an outstanding, approachable, and very wise mentor in the Security Field for a very long time. I’ve been going to him religiously for every course I can since the beginning of my Public Safety career years ago. I have never failed to learn something new on a yearly basis with him, as he was always evolving to comply with new state standards every year.
He also cared deeply for us as Officers, and offered individual guidance, and have often reached out to people privately including myself.
There needs to be absolute transparency on the causes of Doug Tollen’s Suspended DPSST Instructor status. He was the instructor that led the charge year in, and year out for security providers. All his Certifications need to be immediately reinstated.
I can very easily see Public Safety long term suffering due to the lack of guidance and Certification of Doug Tollen. Do better.
