Public funds belong in public schools. Free public education has been a great equitable equalizer. A strong public education system is good for our nation.
Steven apoiou: Reject the Education Freedom Act of 2025 in TennesseeI am a retired private school administrator and am completely against public money going to private schools. Unlike public schools, private schools do not need to accept all children, do not need to meet all learning challenges, and do not need to adhere to testing standards. To me, this would be the equivalent of giving people vouchers to join private golf clubs because they choose not to use the public course. Any good private school is going to charge more in tuition than what the vouchers provide so this will be subsidizing wealthy families not giving the average family more choices. It is also problematic for rural residents where private schools are not available. Don’t divert my tax dollars to private education.

This will help us all greatly and let our district lead by example for other districts.
