My 10-year-old attends this school, and we absolutely love it. He has achieved more since attending this school than any other, but it sure would be a shame if he doesn't get to complete his elementary education at Scenic Elementary.
This has been my daughter’s first year at Scenic, but she’s been thriving already! It’s such a community school with amazing teachers and principal. It stands out from the rest and people school of choice here from all across the valley for a reason. Closing it doesn’t make sense!! Save our school!
As someone without children but with plans to start a family, we purchased a home next to Scenic because of it's high ratings. We must preserve this successful school.
Scenic Elementry has been my grandson's school since 1st grade. He has excelled in all his classes because of the incredible environment of learning. It would be a shame to close a school that is rated so high in excellence in teaching. He is in the 4th grade and his reading level is already off the charts. His sister will be attending kindergarten next year and what a shame if she doesn't get the same experience.
Scenic is a fantastic school; the teachers and staff are top-notch. The school not only has excellent scores but also has a very inclusive and caring culture that fosters kindness. It is an exemplar of what an elementary school should be. The district should do everything possible to upgrade the building to meet modern standards. I am sure the district has reserve funds they could use to help pay for the renovations that Scenic needs. It seems illogical to close Nisley for its low academic growth and then close Scenic, which has one of the best academic track records in the district.
My Grandchildren attended Scenic Elem. One is still a student and we have one upcoming. I also volunteered at this school with wonderful staff and Teachers. I want to know if the Dist51 has considered the mental damage that closing a child's School has and will take on these innocent children's lives. CHILDREN CONSIDER THEIR SCHOOL A SECOND HOME where they feel connected and comfortable and safe. Consider the social aspect also, trust in their friends and Staff. This is a huge Social Emotional part of their young lives. Dist 51 teaches about Trust. They are taking it away and putting fear in its place. Don't do this to the children.
As a recent addition to this wonderful neighborhood, we chose to move here specifically for the opportunity to enroll our child in Scenic Elementary School. The reputation of this institution as the best school in town played a significant role in our decision.
We believe that a child’s education is paramount, and we have witnessed firsthand the detrimental effects of overcrowded classrooms. In such environments, students often struggle to receive the individualized attention they need to thrive academically. This can lead to disengagement and hinder their overall development.
Scenic Elementary School not only provides an excellent academic program but also fosters a nurturing environment where children can grow socially and emotionally. Keeping this school open is essential for maintaining the quality of education that our community values so highly.
We urge decision-makers to consider the long-term impact of closing Scenic Elementary School on our children’s futures. Investing in their education is investing in our community’s success. Let us work together to ensure that every child has access to the exceptional educational experience that Scenic Elementary offers.
This school fosters a kind of positive and supportive learning community that is unique to find. I attended Scenic after transferring from another elementary school in the district and the difference was clear. Although I was young, my time at Scenic successfully set me up for the rest of my K-12 and even through college. I know Scenic still has the same spirit today as my niece and nephew recently attended.
It would be a shame for the district to shut down such an exceptional school.
My grandchildren have attended Scenic Elementary. One is still a student there. The teachers at Scenic have been excellent and my grandchildren have learned and grown so much. They have become thinkers, problem solvers, and lifelong learners. Please consider keeping the spirit of scenic elementary school alive and healthy. Please do not close this excellent school!
