Please help us keep Foster Road Elementary School open! Foster Road is over 70 years old and the FIRST elementary school to open in La Mirada, we would be losing a part of this city's history. Families have generations that have attended this school, the staff and teachers are like family.

Not only would they be breaking apart a tight knit community, they would be closing down the only school in La Mirada that has Title 1 funding. They would also be closing down a high demand preschool, the Title 1 funded ASES program and the biggest special education program in the city. In turn, they would be bussing our children into another city with a much higher crime rate to a school that is currently rated 3/10 and would now be over crowded by about 100 students.

All of this happening while coming out from a pandemic that has already caused distress on our children. A pandemic which has proven the love and loyalty the staff and teachers at Foster Road Elementary have for not only our children but the families in the community as well.

This community NEEDS Foster Road Elementary school to remain open. Please sign this petition and help us keep this school open for our children and community!
