I have driven this road every day for 10 years for work and there is no way I would ever let my children walk this route. This is a short sighted and clearly ill considered decision, from someone who obviously doesn’t know the road. Dorset council get a grip, you should be adding free bus routes not taking them away!! All you are doing is adding to traffic volumes, pollution and putting children’s lives at risk.

This is a crazy decision, having lived in Charlton Marshall when my kids started school, I personally know many of the families this will impact. If we still lived there, there is no way my child would be walking along that ridiculously thin and BUSY bit of road alone + the trailway in the dark!!! The council have said children can walk 3 miles, as an avid hiker I know that's a good hours journey, 6 miles each day for a child carrying school bags ect is not reasonable and £900 a year for one childs bus pass is insane. The bus is going that way and has been free for children in Charlton for years so why change now.

This is a terrible decision to take DCC. Walking along that pavement twice a day is so so dangerous. How long before a terrible accident happens? The trailway is not a choice it's dark in the winter months as there is no lighting and also after rain muddy. Also this leads straight back onto the dangerous road and again the path through Blandford St Mary is also narrow. Please reverse your decision before there is a fatality.

Our roads are busier and more dangerous than ever. Charlton Marshall is clearly not a safe route and the proposal of charging for the bus will force parents to drive. This is against the governments plans for an environmentally sound future. Putting more cars on the road or children in danger. It’s preposterous that it’s even a consideration to penalise village living when so much of our county struggles from this.

My child was just diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. It is more important than ever that he eats a well balanced meal. Yes I can pack him a lunch from home but it will be the same cold cuts and prepackaged foods to maintain a carb count everyday. A hot well balanced meal is best for him, not to mention that this is the ONLY hot meal many, many kids get, especially in my poor state of WV. Our children are our future. Do better! DO MUCH BETTER!!!!

For children to learn, they need nutritious food. Eating locally is not only good for the farmers, but the environment, as well! We expect better from our elected officials. We expect you to care about the health and well-being of our children.

As a parent & a public school employee, I recognize the importance of providing fresh, healthy food to students.

This is disgusting. Henry wants to be at school with his peers and there's no good reason to deny this. Would the council or headteacher be happy with this treatment for their own child? Why do they want to deny Henry the education every child in this country is entitled to? Why do they choose to segregate him? Let Henry be with his peers, learning in a classroom environment as he wants. This is a simple ask and can be easily enacted under the current funding.

This nursery and community have been impactful to a dear friend and her children. Please keep it open and weather the storm of low numbers as each year brings changes in circumstances
