Our family has lived in the Little Italy neighborhood since early in the 1900's. Erecting another high rise building just adds to the massive corporate takeover of the local area. I oppose the Highh Rise Columbia Street Aparment Development, which will only serve to increase the density of an already dense area of our town.
This is a neighborhood of narrow, one-way streets and cottages. We're also blessed with folks who do their best to navigate the confusion to enjoy the wonderful, locally owned restaurants. Trying to build a 161-unit building on this narrow street is like squeezing a full grown woman i to Barbie clothes. Doesn't fit and no one is comfortable.
This project is crammed in next to an elementary school, where traffic is always dangerous at pickup and drop-off times, even worse when the sub Base traffic starts. No housing in this high priced neighborhood will EVER be affordable housing. Since our uncaring mayor and City council care nothing about their constituents, they are NOT charging the normal development fees that the developer would be required to pay to help cover the impacts on roads, schools, crime, parks and increased city services when you add hundreds more people to a neighborhood. This project is merely a profit grab for a developer who cares nothing about the destruction of residents' quality of life
I live here with my young family and it is absolutely devastating and disqusting that I am raising my children here. We pay the same taxes as the rest of San Diego and California and deserve clean air, clean parks, and clean beaches! It’s time Mexico and the US government is held accountable for this! Just because we are not the richest community does not mean we should be ignored.
It’s not fair that families have to suffer and live near toxic sewage. Our oceans and beaches are being poisoned. Wildlife is being killed because of this disaster. People are sick with respiratory illness because of the toxic sewage particles in the atmosphere. Something must be done to stop this. Clean up the river and sewage, stop Mexico from poisoning us before it becomes even worse! Our tax payers and hard working people of San Diego deserve better!
Growing Up in San Diego Imperial Beach was once a gorgeous beach where I would go with my family now I can’t enter the water or even fish there due to pollution we need to make a change to battle this pollution
Fish, despite many not wanting to believe it, can feel pain and have memories. These are living animals that you are using for show when you could just as (if not more) easily used a ping pong ball. I have been in your establishment and enjoyed my time there, but seeing blatant animal abuse has curbed my desire of ever returning until the issue is fixed. Just because you can’t tell doesn’t mean the fish isn’t suffering.
These fish are living animals who (Contrary to urban legends) have memories for up to a year. But with the conditions this bar is keeping them in, it's not their memories that are lasting 30 seconds, it's their lives.
These are living beings. Just imagine if this was happening to your dog or cat. You are the one judging weather a life is valuable or not. Care for a life yall. This is cruel entertainment. We have enough to entertain ourselves than to put living creatures through this bs.
