As a mall that keeps declining, this family restaurant has always remained a constant. Whether it was Critics or Jims, the food and service has always remained consistent and welcoming. It saddens the community to see how Wilmorite handles its mall properties around this region. Let the people choose what they want, and that is Jims - not Boscov's!
I remember going to Critics as a child in the early 70’s with the family…one of mom and dad’s favorite fish fries
It has been a great family restaurant ever since. This so sad to hear. We were just there about 2 weeks and were told they were moving down near the bookstore. The mall needs to accommodate this legacy restaurant. It’s the only restaurant we’ve gone to in the mall since Tom Wahls closed. We hope something can be done to save this great restaurant. It’s really been the only reason to go to that mall anymore now. Great food for many many years..you will be missed
This is a place that my late Aunt Clara and I went to have lunch. It has so many memories it would be a tragedy 💔 to see a place like that with so many memories, gone for so many people. Now my brothers and I have a nice breakfast there. PLEASE, PLEASE don't do this to a landmark that serves Monroe county.
Jim’s is our place to go when we get together with family and friends. I have a grandson in a wheelchair and this restaurant easily accommodates him. We have so many good memories of times there and hope to have lots more. It’s a wonderful family restaurant!
When I've needed some good food and a place to decompress during busy work shifts, either by myself or with my friends and coworkers, Critics, then Jim's, was my go to. The food is great and priced very reasonably. The atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food have made this my most frequented food place when working at the mall. Thanks for the great food and great memories. I hope Wilmorite sees the comments on this petition and reconsiders whatever it is they're asking for to allow Jim's to continue operating.
I've been going to this restaurant since it was Critics and there are quite a few reasons why it should be saved. As some have mentioned, it's accessible for the handicapped and elderly, is on a major bus line, has managed to keep good food at fair prices through Covid, egg shortages, and skyrocketing food prices. Even more importantly, it employs many local workers, from cooks and servers to dishwashers and hosts. Elena has made a huge effort to hire everyone from students to seniors and everyone in between. These people work hard and depend on their income, and now Wilmorite has taken their livelihood away without so much as a thought. Loyal customers that eat there weekly and even daily will be displaced, with no viable alternatives available. Is this how corporate America pays back loyalty, hard work and dedication? Come on Wilmorite- stop grabbing for the big bucks and going back on your word! The Rochester community has supprted you for decades and made you VERY rich; it's time to pay us back with something other than greed and callousness.
After my beloved wife passed away, owner Elena and the rest of the staff at Jim's at the Mall welcomed me every day with open arms and open hearts to help me through my loneliness. I have been going to Jim's at the Mall daily for many years now. They are the family I no longer have. It is entirely wrong for Wilmorite and the Mall not to make every effort to relocate Jim's and continue the proud tradition. Promises made should be kept. So many businesses have left the Mall in Greece that Wilmorite should be trying their darnedest to keep the restaurant and its customers that all want to stay at the Mall. I can not imagine the Mall without Jim's open and operating. Jim's is as close to a Greece landmark as there is. Surely some arrangement can be made to relocate Jim's in the Mall and keep it going. Failure to do so is simply a shame. It does not seem that this is impossible.
