Road access is a crucial topic that impacts transportation and infrastructure in communities worldwide. Recent trends in urbanization and population growth have heightened the need for efficient and equitable road access for all. Key issues and themes in petitions under this topic include advocating for improved maintenance of existing roads, expanding access to rural areas, and addressing environmental concerns related to transportation.
Notable petitions highlight the need for safer roads, better public transportation options, and increased accessibility for people with disabilities. One petition calls for the installation of traffic lights at a dangerous intersection to prevent accidents, while another addresses the lack of sidewalks in a residential area, posing a safety risk to pedestrians.
Join the movement to improve road access and advocate for better transportation infrastructure. Your support can make a significant impact in creating safer, more accessible roadways for communities around the world.
We have endured months of TCB road closure. As well as last year!
It’s visible that at least one lane traffic could be open. It’s an essential route for the Topanga community, commuters, children getting to schools, and last but least for evacuation purposes in an emergency.
The road closure is causing financial strain on families that need to earn. Homes are going up for sale because the logistics of living here are harder to handle. This is a special place and we need basic connectivity - basic mobility - to preserve it, to keep community alive, to make a living in the place we love. We matter. Please act now.
Every business in the canyon is at risk of failing due to the road closures and the lack of visiting consumers; renters are leaving, putting homeowners at risk. Most have been refused assistance from FEMA, SBA & County because these homes haven’t ’suffered loss directly from the fire’. And this will only worsen with the extended delay.
Please open our road! The local businesses and community are suffering. The longer TCB stays closed, the higher the risk for unemployment and businesses closing in Topanga which affects greater LA. Do the right thing, support those who are in need and being impacted, please!
My daughter likes in Topanga and comes to Santa Monica to help me. I am 84 years old. Having to come to me via back roads or the Valley takes much more time and is more tiring for her so she comes here tired and has to recover.
Life in Topanga without access to PCH and the Westside has become unbearably exhausting. We fear for all of our Topanga businesses. This situation needs to be addressed urgently. We understand it is complicated! 🙏
How much can we be expected to suffer? We suffered through fire, mudslides, excessive rain, evacuations, school closers, road closers, business closers, park closers, customer and income loss since the beginning of the year. If this keeps going California will not be 5th largest economy, it will be the 1st largest devastation zone in the world. Dear Governor, open Topanga Canyon Blvd., deliver on your promises now.
My family members are directly impacted by this long term closure. I experienced it on a visit last summer. The detours add hours to commutes. Topanga residents need to be able to access to their children's schools. Businesses have suffered long term financial instability. Please make reopening TCB a priority!
