My aunt works in a mental health rehabilitation center because she wants to help people recover. It is very important that we nurture the minds of these people who are already struggling instead of locking them away. I have never had to go to a metal facility, and for that I'm grateful, but there are millions of people who are mistreated at places like these each day. By the way I'm only 15, and if I can see the change that needs to be made, then it must be serious.
Being just a teenager when he got into and spending over 20 yrs locked up there is no doubt that this man deserves a second chance because he really never had the first chance...please give him a chance to know what it is to live as a free man
ECT causes severe memory loss that doctors treat as "helpful." This is the *gold standard" treatment that permanently hurt me. My complaints were dismissed.
ECT left me with short-term memory loss and reduced intelligence which has rendered me unable to work. I had to leave a job I loved because of the cognitive effects of ECT. ECT has ruined my life. I now require speech therapy because I find it difficult to hold words long enough in my head to be able to speak them. I do not want this to happen to anyone else. Doctors never made it clear that permanent brain damage is possibility with ECT.
