Every day people make decisions on where to live and work based on proximity to public lands, which they see as reliable places for fun, comfort, and rest. People expect that these places will always be there for them. The city of Santa Fe has an obligation to protect our limited public space.
As a long time, Black mountain resident. We need more spaces indoors open to the public. Options for our kids, indoors. For a long time I’ve wished for something to happen with this building. I hope it is considered.
I frequently bike around the lake on week day mornings. No matter what day of the week it is or what time, the trail is always busy. 100s of people visit the lake everyday getting a much needed exercise and temporary respite from our busy life. The lake is an exceptional resource community and it is hard for me to believe that restricting access is being considered.
Lake Miramar is a neighborhood staple. I’ve made countless memories here, from catching up with family on a walk to feeling the wind on my face during a bike ride. Let’s keep outdoor recreation accessible!
Miramar Lake helped keep me sane during Covid and maternity leave. Our family loves going for walks around the lake and riding our bikes from our house to the lake for a picnic. It would be such a shame to have this beautiful resource go to waste!
Keeping parks, lakes and open spaces open is essential to public mental health and physical health. Don't close off our resources to try to manage a budget shortfall. Keep OUR lake open 7 days a week.
Access to the lake is vital for cross country and track runners at our area high school. My son attended running club there each summer of high school and the team also used it at other times. Do not take this community necessity away. It is very important to these young athletes’ training.
It is essential to the health and well being of the people of San Diego to keep open, throughout the week, the peaceful haven of Lake Miramar. Thousands of San Diego residents benefit in significant ways by having access to the recreational opportunities the lake provides and its restorative tranquility. It bonds families and the community and the larger city and county. You must keep Lake Miramar open all week!!
