Privacy is a basic human right, and companies like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and even the government don't respect that. I have done everything I can to limit how much data is collected about me, but I still have a long way to go.
As US citizen and seeing how social media companies like Twitter/X and Facebook/Mets have been plaguing our country, I have emailed the leaders of the EU and leaders around the world encouraging them to put a stop to this nonsense. This type of hateful divisive propaganda creates an internal war. It teaches us how to hate our fellow man. Public safety cannot be kept for a public who hates itself. Take a stand against misinformation.
I’ve recently found out that goguardian is the least helpful thing implemented onto our school devices in a long time. Because of goguardian, I can no longer access some important educational sites. For example, in Spanish, our teacher wanted us to get photos for a slideshow. The problem? You can’t search up the word “eating” on goguardian without getting blocked. Along with this, the slideshow app “Canva” has been blocked. Canva is an app that students use frequently to make slideshows. I’m extremely disappointed in this change.
It's blocked websites that students use as educational resources. Due to key word features, many websites are blocked, for example, a social studies project to do research on recent events could be made imposable due to the fact students cannot reach information on the Tik Tok ban for example.
