These cops should be fired. This gentleman should sue for more than 3.5 million. The case should go the jury. City should be sued as well for more money for hiring dirty cops who are racists and incompetent. Police departments need to start training their staff on how to deal with people with disabilities. As a person with a disability I’m not able to get on the ground, nor am I able to get back up. I also can’t put my arms behind my back. These type of police officers would break so many bones in my body if they did that to me. For god sake take some sensitivity classes from a organization that deals with disabilities.
This type of abuse of power and authority prevents Veterans from seeking care at VA Facilities. Phoenix VA has had issues like this and other poor care for decades. My Vietnam Vet father was a brief patient in the 1980's. What he received at that facility prevented me from seeking VA care for almost two decades (Gulf War/GWOT Vet). It was horrible. He finally received the type of care he needed in 2019. And Myself 2024. Neither at that facility.
Making Election Day a federal holiday in the United States could increase voter turnout by providing citizens with more time to vote without work conflicts. In the 2020 election, 13.1% of registered voters who didn’t vote cited being too busy or having scheduling conflicts as the reason. Additionally, such a holiday would celebrate democracy, turning voting into a nationwide event. This approach aligns with practices in other countries and has significant public support; a Pew Research Center survey found that nearly 80% of Democrats and nearly 70% of Republicans favor making Election Day a federal holiday.
Many teenagers, like myself, are politically educated and want a say in who rules our country. If the voting age is lowered, it means that younger voices would be heard, it would promote more voting, and possibly encourage more teens to educate themselves politically to prepare. Sixteen year olds should be allowed to vote and stand for what they believe in.
Hello, I live 2 blocks away from Central where the light rail construction occurs, I didnt want it down here, I worked at the Phoenix Art Museum when the first section was put in and knew the impact it would have on the traffic/businesses, but it has been so much worse than thought with the amount of dirt in the air has increased, the migration of mice, scorpions, and noise and delays and issues with leaving my neighborhood to go to work, it has been stressful and has prolonged my commute to work and coming home. This has not been a beneficial use of recourses for S. Phoenix residents, we have seen lots of colures to medical buildings, which is crucial for any community and the traffic makes it harder for pedestrians to walk and cross safely, I hope this ends soon and do not extend onto Baseline !
