Pesticides in parks is a pressing environmental issue that impacts public health, biodiversity, and ecosystems. Concerns over the use of harmful chemicals in public spaces have sparked petitions calling for organic alternatives and pesticide-free policies in parks and recreational areas. Petitions highlight the dangers of pesticide exposure to children, pets, and wildlife, as well as the negative effects on water quality and soil health.
One petition with thousands of signatures advocates for a complete ban on glyphosate, a controversial herbicide linked to health risks and environmental damage. Another petition urges local governments to prioritize natural and non-toxic pest control methods to protect the community and the environment.
Join the movement to protect our parks and wildlife by supporting pesticide-free initiatives and promoting sustainable practices. Your involvement can lead to healthier, greener public spaces for all to enjoy.
I'm a nurse, and I would so much rather see some "weeds" than hurt any animals, children, or other citizens of our communities. Please find natural ways to remove problematic plants if you must, but above all else please keep poisons out of our plants, animals, water supply, and lives. I recommend the documentaries "Dark Waters" and "Into The Weeds" that show how chemical treatments hurt humans, not to mention wildlife. Thank you!
Please stop spraying pesticides! I have an outdoor adventure camp for children. We explore the parks, open spaces and bluffs on the coast. Please Stop!! There has to be a better way other than polluting children with toxic pesticides. Thank you!
Glysophate in particular is a known carcinogen. Monsanto and now Bauer have been sued for millions of dollars to people who have been sick. It’s mind boggling that chemicals are sprayed that can injury insects, animals and humans. It’s time to do the right thing and stop spraying of any kind.
You must protect our PUBLIC TRUST DOCTRINE. This is in the Wisconsin Constitution. The faucets on my sinks say hot and cold, not republican or democrat.
Water is a shared resource by all, so therefore it is up to all of us to be responsible. Growing up, I came to WI every year to visit the lakes. I want further generations to experience that quality of life, too. Please act to protect and manage our waterways!
