I have visited this area before and walked through the current construction today. Unless there is good and unselfish reason to contend against this well established community project they’ve been a unique and value add to Greensboro over a decade. What good reason is there it should not be supported? I doubt there is. Respectfully William Styers

This is my favorite park however it needs love! The park technically was never completed. Only phase 1 was finished. The least the city can do is give it some lights so that our skaters with 9-7 jobs can skate in the evenings. The darkness at night attracts a less than desirable crowd to the area. That would change immediately

I moved to Land O Lakes, FL 5 months ago. I was previously a member of DC Roadrunners Club located in the DC Metro area. Arlington county, Virginia and 2 high schools in this area allow the group weekly access the tracks. DC Roadrunners met on Thursday mornings at 6:00 am for our weekly speed work. Access to these tracks has been allowed for well over a decade and there has never been an issue that I am aware of. Access to a track is such a benefit for active adults that are trying to juggle the complexities of balancing work/home life while trying to maintain their fitness schedule. Avoiding the Florida heat goes without saying. But it also allows for adults to get together once a week with others in a safe environment. This is such a simple thing that promotes fitness and provides an opportunity to meet new people fostering a sense of community, support, and belonging. Having just moved here; I would love to have more opportunities to meet new people with similar interests in a safe environment.
Christine ha apoyado: Allow public use of the track at Starkey Ranch K-8 School during the early morning hours
Public school. Public. Odessans should have access to public school tracks in the mornings. Early morning walks promote physical health by encouraging regular exercise and morning sun for a circadian rhythm reset. Early morning walks at public tracks enhance community safety through increased visibility and collective presence. Morning walks foster meaningful social connections, strengthening community bonds and supporting mental well-being. By opening tracks early it creates healthier, and more connected world respectfully aligning with the public’s need for spaces to thrive.

This has been going on for years. I’m so grateful to the organizers of this to protect these beautiful trees that make you say WOW when you come to this street in Marina del Rey. They are so memorable and bring so much shade and beauty. They should be protected!
Cristina ha apoyado: Stop the systematic destruction of half-century old Coral Trees in MDR
In Feb 2023, a NPR piece noted “California lost more than 36 million trees in the last year alone”. Beaches & Harbors should be doing everything in its power to save our mature trees, not to remove them -or find excuses to remove them - based on notions of (in)convenience. As for the 2 New Zealand Christmas Trees that they touted as replacements for the 2 majestic story coral trees they felled in the fiasco that occurred a few years back, one immediately died (we locals have been looking at a dead sapling for 2 years now) and its anemic-looking twin has barely grown a few inches since it was planted. This is progress?

Disc golf is a affordable, accessible recreation that deserves a place in this city. This course has been a great escape and helped many discover a new park and new neighborhoods.
Scott ha apoyado: Keep Highland Park Disc Golf: A Game-Changer for Our Community
I played in the inaugural tournament here earlier in the year, the people who run the league/club are very nice and encourage people to join/play. It’s the only course NYC has access to, Long Island is also lacking additional courses leaving us to travel to New Jersey, Connecticut, Upstate, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts & more. Taking this away from the newly formed community around the course doesn’t make sense. Don’t let that bogus NYU professors article paint a negative picture of this park and disc golf.

The money shouldn't go towards soulless corporate design. I love the park's logo as is, it is iconic and timeless. The money should be invested in making parks safer and fun for everyone.
