Parades are festive events that hold cultural, historical, and celebratory significance in communities worldwide. They often showcase diversity, unity, and pride through various performances, floats, and displays. Recent trends suggest a shift towards inclusivity, with petitions advocating for representation of marginalized groups and themes in parades.
Key issues and themes in parade-related petitions include calls for LGBTQ+ visibility, Indigenous representation, and disability inclusion. Notable petitions have gained traction for demanding LGBTQ+ Pride parades to be more inclusive of transgender individuals and people of color. Another petition highlights the importance of recognizing Indigenous cultures and histories in parade celebrations.
Join the movement to promote diversity and representation in parades by exploring and supporting these petitions. Your involvement can help create more meaningful and inclusive parade experiences for all participants and spectators.

The city should call for an investigation into where the money went and the floats and balloons that the nonprofit foundation had. They have dodged media questions. The city should ask the attorney general to investigate. I agree with those who want to see the city make efforts to revive the parade that our family enjoyed when our children were little, so that future generations can enjoy it, too.
A family tradition for 3 generations and more than 40 years. As I'm sure it was for many other San Diego area families. My children and grand children ask every November "Is the parade this year?". It's time to tell them yes. Let's get our Goose back!
My Father spent a career with ECPD. Attending this parade was a family tradition for 3 generations and more than 40 years. As I'm sure it was for many other families. My children, and grandchildren still ask every November "Is the parade this year?". It's time to get our Goose back!
Please Bring Our Tradition back to the Original Parade and Parade Route, no other parade has been changed, so one the is 124 yrs old shouldn’t be changed this is a tradition that My Great- Grandfather was an Orinal Mummer back in 1901, and before when it was in the Neck!!
I have family members in the stringbands !! Also I moved to 18 th & Oregon Ave. 22 yrs ago from Gray's Ferry and loved it cause I was in walking distance to the start of parade. Grew up watching it near Broad and wolf across from Methodist Hospital. It hasn't been the same since they moved it to market St. Please bring it back where it belongs and also bring the fancy brigades back to Broad St. Too. My cousin is Captain Denny Palandro of South Philly String Band.
As a current Mummer and a kid who grew up at Broad and Oregon, I would love the opportunity for my kids to see the parade the way I saw the parade. It should have never left South Broad!!
