Thanks for your support! Update 5/27

Wow, thanks everyone for your enthusiasm and support!

Less than 24 hours after starting the petition, we're at nearly 500 signatures, a couple hundred dollars in donated promotion for the petition, and many companies and individuals have reached out to offer their help.

Here are a few updates:

• Mike Shank and I have spoken and he appreciates all of the support!

• We have had an opportunity to potentially combine the Indy 500 victory parade with an existing major downtown parade, but the schedule did not work for Meyer Shank Racing (it is during a race weekend). 

• The City of Columbus will allow a victory parade but requires at least 60 days of notice for street closure permits. The scheduling is now the biggest hurdle; avoiding other downtown events, providing enough notice for the permit, and of course, having MSR be available and in town.

I told Mike we will keep thinking about how to recognize their win. A parade is still my goal, but even if that does not work, we will definitely do something!
