I live about an hour away, but cannot visit this place with a good conscience. It stinks, there’s too many animals in small cages, and they don’t look well cared for. I live near Wildlife Safari, in Winston, OR, and it’s night and day compared to the West Coast Wildlife Park. It shows the difference in responsible management of wildlife vs. irresponsible management/neglect.
I remember going when I was a kid, the animals were well taken care of, last time I went, there was a fox who was skin and bones who was running circles and other animals that looked starved. This needs to stop.
These animals have needed help for so long and this is all just cruel and has went on for too long. I think it’s time to put an end to what’s going on and stop this man from making money off of dying animals.
I lived in Coquille for 10yrs, went to the game park a couple of times, but reading the USDA report was horrific and sad. Animals should never be treated that way. Shut it down!
I’ve been here multiple times since I moved here in 2015 and each time I’ve gone it’s made me more sad. There’s been an increase of animals over the years but not space and these poor babies are depressed and you can just tell. Now to see pictures of them starved so much you can see their ribs. We need to do better and be a change and get these babies to a safe place. SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN AND SAVE THEIR LIVES.
It is cruel how those animals have to live. They depend on us humans to feed them and it makes me sick to think they are in those cages waiting for food because its not like they can go get there own. Its a sad situation and its right here in our county . we need to help get those animals to a better place if we cant even feed them. I could go on and on about this and sometimes thinking about it I cant eat because I know they are starving please someone help them
This has been allowed to occur for years with no consequences, it is long past time this has to stop! The facility has no AZA, or ZAA accreditations, no employee training, and repeatedly openly violates both the Big Cat Act as well as State and Federal Animal Welfare laws. Enough is enough, we as a modern society can no longer pretend to be ignorant about these issues. I cant imagine what it is like for the poor chimpanzee to live out his life isolated in a small cage with a concrete floor. Also why should wild animals be subject to handling by the public hour after hour all day long? No one would put their dog through that kind of treatment! Animals starving and deaths due to lack of veterinary care, it goes on and on. When will our elected officials do their jobs? Until they do this story will continue to repeat year after year as more animals die and the rest continue to suffer.
Have only been here once and it was extremely heart breaking. The lion was skin and bones, the monkey seemed out of it, the black leopards loving conditions were absolutely disgusting. Not a single one of them had clean water. Do better!
