I was born in shaw in 1947 & lived there for 70 years! I am now a Royton resident due to personal circumstances & will always love Shaw
Barbara supported: Object to the Planning Application for a 22-bed HMO in ShawIt makes me so frustrated That Shaw appears to get all our history deleted by using our buildings for unsuitable projects. I understand the HMO users need a place to live but why is it that Shaw is getting the lions portion of these housing projects? We are a relatively small village compared to others yet we appear to be getting dumped on. I lived on Oak street when Oak house was being used as a hostel and the things that went on within the surrounding area where not pleasant. Robberies, home invasion, drug takers hanging on the street corners it was not very nice for the home owners. I am not tarring all homeless with this label but you have got to admit it does happen.

With no regard for the people of Shaw , the people who live in the vicinity of the site or any thought for disabled/accessible living which is needed in every ward of Oldham . There's no plan for added infrastructure either .
