Hi. I'd prefer to stay anonymous, but I will share one thing: I have autism. As an autistic person, I have seen the stigma that comes from being neurodiverse, and the complete lack of education about things like ADHD/ADD, and autism.

I am just beyond confused by this. My son is a leukemia patient, and needs extra things for his developmental delay. If anything, the schools here in Tulsa, OK need way more resources for special needs children. Also, its been almost a couple years now that hes been back in public school and even with extra help with his IEP he has not made much progress as it is. This is just outrageous. You all need to rethink what can be done. This is not the answer. It makes it WAY harder on parents to have jobs if their kids have special needs and for some of the ones that have to work and still don't make enough money would there be programs outside of school for them that is covered by medicaid? So then also now you have the problem of the parent being able to work instead they have to take their special needs child to a different program and how will that help attendance in school? How? I am having a hard enough time with attendance in school with my son getting up on time for school and him having trouble getting ready because of his delay and we are late because I have 3 other kids at home. My job is at home in the endless laundry piles and dishes that will never be done on top of the behaviors of my IEP son that make everything at home take so much longer. This is not the best thing for everyone. You need to find somewhere else to cut funding. Not cut down funding for the neediest population of kids you can find.

My son is 4 years old. He is autistic and has DDX3X neuro developmental disorder. Being able to get help through our public school system has been a Godsend to our son and family. It's not always easy leaving work to take my son to outside therapies. He needs occupational, speech, and physical therapy. We have 3 other children (2 of which are on IEPs for ADHD and speech) and leaving work means loosing income when I'm out of PTO. My son being in a developmentally delayed program has helped him learn to much . Though he is non-verbal for the most part, he can now identify all letters, shapes, and colors. He is learning to identify his name in print. None of that would be possible without the help and love from the teachers, paraprofessionals, and other special services members on staff. Please reject this bill so my children, current children involved and future children can get the help they need and deserve . Thank you.

As a school OT, many of these children would not get these services without their IEPs and school services. I will fight for those who cannot. There are simply no pros that would outweigh the thousands of lives that would be absolutely devastated from this loss.

I think this is disgusting to strip students with disabilities from receiving much needed services to ensure that they receive a fair education with special accommodations. What kind of individual would create and support this bill. It is inhumane and unfair. Disabled children matter too and they need an education with accommodations, love and support to became the best versions of themselves and to become successful, educated and contribute to society positively and effectively . Everybody is somebody. According to God and Jeremiah 29:11.

My daughter has Down syndrome and receives both school and private based therapies. Both play a role in her development and are crucial. Additionally, moving accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology to an attachment would strip her of her legal protections. Say no to this bill.

This bill would be to the detriment of our children who require speech therapy. My grandchild and nephew are autistic and previously had limited verbal communication and communicated through sign language. With the support and tutelage of speech therapists, they're able to speak now and their talking is more clearly discernible. My grandson can now tell his mom and dad 'I love you' in his own voice. Passing this bill would hinder them tremendously from keeping the help they already have to become successful future adult Oklahomans!

I grew up with a 504, if I did not receive the resources I was given I would not be where I am now. I now have a teaching degree and live in a rural part of our state…This bill is going to hurt our children who deserve to be protected. The rural areas of our state will be drastically impacted by this bill.

My son was on an IEP from elementary school through high school. The extra help and accommodations with the IEP helped him to gain confidence and succeed. His Senior year in high school he was asked to join the Nat’l Technical Honor Society at the technical school he went to in conjunction with high school. The program he was in Junior/Senior years was also IEP based program. He was encouraged to participate in SkillsUSA competition where he got 3rd at regional and 2nd at state levels. Without programs such as IEPs/504s, our kids will not receive the help they need to grow up to be fine young citizens! They will more often than not feel frustrated, defeated and discouraged which will lead to higher drop out rates. Our state will drop even further in the nation on education, not to mention bring the national average down which will make our nation look even worse when compared to other countries on education!

As a former teacher, Speech, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy were ESSENTIAL to helping my students SUCCEED. They are absolutely NECESSARY for education!
