I have always been supportive towards policies that preserve our environment. Seeing that park rangers are being fired from their jobs shows that our biggest priorities towards preserving the environment are being destroyed. I want to see change; I don’t want to see a rollback on change!
In 2019, my family had the opportunity to visit Glacier National Park in Montana. The park rangers there were very helpful in providing recommendations for hikes that would fit the ability of our children. We had an amazing time hiking through the forests and seeing the beauty of nature. They helped our kids become junior rangers and talked to us about the plants and animals we might see along the trail. They gave us important information on how to stay safe if we saw a bear and my kids still laugh at me when I remind them that you are supposed to clap your hands and loudly say “Hey Bear” when walking around the corner on a path so as to not surprise a bear.
Park Rangers are important people who provide invaluable services to the greater public and they should be honored and not vilified because people in power want to say they are “saving money” when instead their actions are causing costly damage.
I will always be thankful for the help we have received by Park Rangers at the few national parks we have been able to visit.
I care about this topic because when I was younger, going to national parks was a family activity. Rangers were always helpful with the correct paths and teaching us about all the different kinds of life in the forest. I’ve never been more hurt by an act so cruel. Rangers are what make these parks special. The cleanup is going to go down, forests will not be the same without its Rangers. These people wanted these jobs for a very long time, some of it being their dream job. How could you take away someone’s dream? It is simply not right. Bring back the Rangers!
I am an avid supporter of the National Park Service. It provides affordable access to America's history and natural resources for all Americans.
NP Rangers are passionate and knowledgeable and they have always enhanced my NP experience. Beyond their interactions with visitors, Rangers also provide vital preservation and maintenance tasks that allow these resources to survive.
I am very proud that my granddaughter (and other grandkids) see the value of preserving the NPS. And I hope that their kids and grandkids can continue to experience America through the NPS.
Ever since i was in 6th grade, it has been my absolute dream to be a National Park ranger. I feel so passionate about our world, and we need to work to protect our wildlands.
I was raised in state and national parks. My love and knowledge of nature was birthed there through educational programs and guidance by highly educated and passionate rangers. My daughters carry that fire in them. Their love for parks turned into a job at the Grand Canyon for one, and Mammoth Cave for the other. If you are a parent, I hope you will fight for the future of your child, and their children. They deserve to see and experience truly beautiful places while they still exist.
This topic matters so much to me, I grew up around national parks and it was the one place I could escape the overwhelming about of internet and social media. Park rangers matter way more than you think! Park rangers educate, clean, and are the sounding voice of nature. help make change
Our National Parks are a vital part of who we are as a nation. The beauty of nature reminds us that we are all connected and must strive to protect our planet less it all comes crashing down around us. We cannot allow the greedy few to destroy what we love in the name of short term profit.
If you've ever been to San Francisco, one of the most visually stunning aspects of the City is the seamless integration of park and city, and no park in SF translates the look, the feel, and the awe of the Bay area better than the Presidio.
You remember that first time you stumbled across the Wood Line, enchanted at the mystery of the zig zags taking you through the Cypress trees. The way the morning and evening light cascades through the fog and the trees as the air fills with gold. How that beautiful reddish and orange bridge rises over the trees and clashes magnificence against the blue waters of the Bay.
I've jumped into this park more times that I can count and wished upon a new wonder, a new memory, a new feeling of peace previously undiscovered.
The only people who could dream of taking this away have corroded souls. Don't let them touch the Presidio. In their words, "come and take it"
