Jacinta Nampijinpa Price does not represent me & I am a proud Wulgurukaba and Erub Island woman. My great grandmother Annie Noble was stolen from her family and sent to Yarrabah Mission which was known as Bellenden-Ker mission under the Protectionism Act. This was a brutal system of colonial oppression that enslaved our people and stripped them of identity, culture, and language.
For Jacinta to claim colonisation had a “positive impact” is a betrayal. Her platform does not reflect the truth of our black history or the voices of those she claims to speak for, it actually denies the suffering of our ancestors and the intergenerational trauma we still live with today.
I’m a victim of the robo debit scheme and got no compensation besides my money back that left me struggling for 8 months taking it away vital funds for food and utilities.
Standing by, watching the absolute devestation of my home community during the Black Summer Fires, and having to stomach this egomaniac stroll into town after his rejuvenating Hawaiin holiday was absolutely sickening. Forcing people who had lost everything to shake his hand and become props for his photo ops. His complete and utter lack of empathy and void of human compassion makes him NO candidate for any sort of honour. If you want to give the man anything perhaps some therapy is a good start. But an Order of Australia honour - how utterly demoralising and disrespectful to the vast amount of people who are immensely more deserving. Shame!
