The topic of Narragansett delves into the cultural significance and preservation of the Narragansett Indian Tribe, the largest tribe in Rhode Island. Recent trends highlight efforts to protect tribal sovereignty and promote Indigenous rights. Key issues in petitions include advocating for recognition of tribal land rights, supporting cultural revitalization initiatives, and opposing discriminatory legislation. Notable petitions call for the protection of sacred sites, such as the Mashapaug Pond, and urge government officials to consult with the tribe on key decisions impacting their community. Boon Street Market has been the site of many family and friend gatherings, reunions, and happy memories. This small business continues to pour into the community and we should do the same for them. Putting harsh regulations on the business will only hurt the local economy, diminish opportunity for genuine connection, and create resentment in the community.
I support Boon Street Market. The negative publicity surrounding it has only caused division and discontent within our town. It's crucial that we come together, not just as neighbors, but as a community, united by a common goal: to create a thriving, supportive environment for ourselves and for future generations.
When was the last time you heard of a local restaurant that has genuinely addressed every complaint and consistently made an effort to improve? I believe Boon Street Market is unique in that way.
It has something for everyone—whether you're looking for a warm sense of community, a place to share a meal with friends, or just somewhere to enjoy good food and laughter. These are the things that small towns like ours are known for, and we shouldn't lose sight of that.
I truly believe the owners of Boon Street Market care deeply about our happiness and well-being. The thought, effort, and care that went into the building itself, as well as the countless ways they give back to the community, speak volumes about their commitment to us. It is for these reasons I want to see Boon Street thrive.
Boon Street Market is easily one of the best things to come to the pier in a very long time. It is so nice to have a place to go have a good time, that isn’t Matunuck or East Greenwich. They are a new pillar of our community, providing support to all of South County. In a town where young adults seem to have been at the short end of every stick, it’s nice to feel seen and supported. ❤️
Boo street is an asset to our community. They provide jobs, family fun and the owners are part of the fabric of Narragansett. My kids love Boon street and so do I.
Hello, my name is Annabella and I have been coming to Rhode Island every summer/fall/winter and spring since I was a child. As a now adult me and my cousins couldn’t have been more excited that something fun was coming to the town of Narragansett. Yes we have Muse and ocean mist not too far away but finally, just finally we had something focused towards 20 somethings and not just that but families and their favorite family dog! I enjoy spending time there with my family and friends, I enjoy the staff and the ambiance, I enjoy the music and the environment. Every new restaurant/bar has things to figure out, at least give Boon Street Market the opportunity to show us this. Thank you.
We’ve been in the neighborhood for years and were so happy when Boon St Market opened after years of looking at a vacant building. My understanding is that the area has been zoned for such a business for a long time so it’s unfortunate that people would rather have a crumbling, empty eye sore instead of a business that draws people to Narragansett. Too bad there will always be a few haters trying to ruin things for everyone else.
Boon Street Market is located in the heart of a beach town with a high amount of tourism. There was traffic in the town before they were even in operation, and now because they have a successful business that slightly inconveniences them, they are attempting to effectively shut it down. The reality is this: you live in a beach town. BSM has bent over backwards trying to ease the concerns of neighbors and a neighborhood that they clearly seem to care about. The town and state have laws in place on how bars and restaurants can operate. No one on specific streets or areas deserves special treatment because they don’t like how busy it is. Things change. That’s capitalism.
We have lived next door to Boon St Market long before it was there. We have always wanted a new entertaining place for the area as it brings out of towners and it is a boom to local economy. Why do we want tourists going to other towns cause there is not enough in our town? Makes no sense. Now we have the perfect place to go have a drink and meet with friends. Not to mention that amount of money these owners have put into the place. Revoking their liquor license will only disparage future businesses from ever wanting to come to our town. And that it terrible for Narragansett.
Boon Street Market is a lifesaver for a family on the go as we run our kids to different sports and activities around town. It allows us to give them real food instead of fast food chain trash, and we can stop in and meet with friends and neighbors from the community. We absolutely support BSM!
