I make a living selling vintage items on Marketplace. I've been selling on Marketplace for 5 years now and I built up a nice clientele and I love Marketplace. This is the first major issue I've had with them and it's a big one when it comes to not getting our payouts. This is my livelihood and I'm getting behind on my bills. I have payouts owed to me from Feb to present day. Right now the total is 6 payouts owed & there's be no explanation from Meta or any live customer support to talk to.
Facebook actively pushes for transphobia to be seen and heard, as a trans person the platform feels quite unsafe even though it is one of the only ones where I can contact my friends. Its discouraging especially since it is proven to affect the outside world. Because of CEOs pushing more hate towards minorities, I have been affected not just online but in real life too.
Hate speech against the LGBTQ+ community, especially on Facebook, has been ramped as of late. I see a lot of transphobic posts uploaded by conservative boomers and using “woke” as an insult to attack millions of people who are queer and transgender. Anti LGBTQ+ rhetoric has been an issue on Meta platforms, even prior to the policy changes!
Changing the Iranian flag emoji is the next step to healing the wounds of my beloved country and showing the oppressive regime that change is on its way. I have been living away from my motherland since I was eight years old and cannot imagine continuing to do so in the future.
I’m not pregnant and have not had a baby yet but I have learned so much through this account and feel so excited to know there are more options than just hospital birth. I thought the only way to birth was with an epidural. I was never taught any of this. I thought the only position you could give birth in was on your back. I’m 25 years old now and have learned so much because of access to this knowledge and imagery. It is not sexual, it is not explicit, it is the most natural thing in the world and hiding this info places shame on it. Make it accessible. Have it pop up on someone’s feed so one day it’s normal and not taking anyone by surprise.
I care about this issue because this account shows us what doctors in big hospitals won’t tell us about birth and our birthing options. We don’t always need a hospital birth for a safe and effective delivery!
Really, really tired of Meta allowing scammers to list our small businesses products on their fraudulent ads. It has severely hurt our reputation as a business, and they need to be held accountable. I have talked to countless victims of these scams from people who thought they were buying our products. Thanks so much, Facebook.
My Facebook account was suspended back in October after I was hacked and another Instagram account was linked to my Facebook account. I’ve been on the waiting list to get Meta verified since them and have been very depressed loosing contact with most of my friends and 15 years of photos and memories.
