As Jews, a community that has long understood the dangers of systemic oppression and the importance of fighting for justice, we must stand up now for our transgender citizens, who are facing legal and social challenges that threaten their rights and dignity.
We must ensure that we do not repeat the mistakes of history.
It is easy to draw a parallel between Martin Niemöller’s “Then they came...” poem and what we are witnessing today. In light of this, we say...
First they came for the transgender people, and I did not speak out—because I was not transgender.
Then they came for the immigrants, and I did not speak out—because I was not an immigrant.
Then they came for the right to abortion, and I did not speak out—because I did not need an abortion.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
Never again!!
What I want for #Pride2025 ?
I want LGBTQ people not to have to check to see who's around before holding our partner's hand in public.
I want trans people to feel safe to use whichever gendered facility that we feel is appropriate.
I want LGBTQ healthcare to be informed, safe, accessable, and affordable.
I want our jobs to not be at risk if we are outed.
I want landlords not to be able to deny us a place to live for being queer or trans.
I want cops not to treat us harshly just for being LGBTQ.
I want corporations to not pander to us during #Pride only to forget us the rest of the year, or worse throw us aside when political winds shift.
I want our Government that claims it is for all Americans to stand up for us and not pass laws that harm us.
I want to be able to go out in public and not worry if today is the day some bigot is going to assault me.
I want gay and trans panic defense to be abolished everywhere.
I want conversion therapy to be banned everywhere.
I want religious institutions to welcome us and not teach hate toward us or the tired cop-out of "hate the sin not the sinner".
I want not to have to think about being queer or trans first before I do anything because bigotry has made everyday life hostile to our existence.
I want liberation, not just acceptance.

‘First they came for the trans folks’ and I will NOT sit down nor shut up because I’m not trans! I have my trans siblings backs and so should Pride because the easier it is to hurt them the quicker they’ll go after the rest of us. We must stop it here and now and let them know that we ALL stand with trans folks.
As a trans man and former Pride Royalty Court title holder, I would LOVE to see a resource, resistance, and protest based Pride for our terriby rare safe-haven city. We have a ton of resources that our community needs (and doesn't know are available) and we can't stop fighting to keep them.
I get bullied in school for being a therian, every day. I'm called a furry, a zoophile, a pedo, a weirdo, and told to kms every day. I'm a Catholic that attends public school, adding on my unsupportive family, so it makes things even worse. Us therians, alterhumans, furries, otherkin, basically everyone deserves to be included! We shouldn't be discriminated against just because we're who we are.
As a polytherian, I've hidden my identity but when I found that the school I go to has many therians like me I told them, our problem is other people making fun of us and teachers calling us stupid. I believe therian schools would be cool and effective to allow us therians have a chance to embrace our selves everyday without hesitation.
hey ima therian and iv also experienced finding a video posted of me without my consent (its been taken down) it is often hard for me to walk around school without feeling that I might get punched or jumped in the hallways so that's why I decided to sign this petition in hope that things will get better for us therian who want to express ourselves
I am a young Therian who was afraid to come out to my own parents. I was so scared that they would despise me even though they are the people I trust most. I shouldn't have to be afraid to be myself around my parents let alone people I have never talked to or seen in my entire life. Thank you for helping us feel more accepted. You are not alone.
