Service charge has gone up atleast 10% this year . The maintenance is just not up to the standard where it should be . We have a fallen down tree on site and still nothing has been done . Such a shame because where we live the development is 5 star and the grounds just unfortunately don't live up to it 1 star .
James supported: Call for investigation into FirstPort Property Management CompanyService Charge has increased, with additional end of year reconciliation charges added above the high monthly service charge. The building and common area are run down, and aren't in good repair.
First Port don't provide tenants and leaseholders with care. It took weeks of complaining that their roof was leaking causing water to pool in my ceilings, eventually to drip through into our living area and bedrooms. This became a serious health risk before they took action. I'm still waiting for repair to the roof so dreading the next downpour and confirmation they will repair my ceilings.
Their service charge is half my monthly mortgage cost. Daylight robbery
Karen supported: Call for investigation into FirstPort Property Management CompanyMy service charge bills have gone up significantly in the last 2-3 years - I am constantly receiving additional adjustment charges and I can’t keep up with it. The billing system is really inconsistent and almost designed to confuse people - they tried to charge me twice for the same bill. The yearly plans that they send via post provides extensive detail on works to be carried out with estimated costs doesn’t seem to add up - their contractors and suppliers should be investigated.
Ayse supported: Call for investigation into FirstPort Property Management CompanyFirstPort do not maintain our estate like they should yet they demand money in a lump sum , do not accept monthly direct debits and we just want value for money
Jennifer supported: Call for investigation into FirstPort Property Management CompanyFirst Port has increased my service charges by 50% in last 5 years.
The service they provided isn't adequate.
First Port charge for services they don't provide, which I have proof of.
We all should have the right to manage our own services.
Roger supported: Call for investigation into FirstPort Property Management CompanyWe have water ingress when rains, black mould, and water dripping in a wall with electrics in, 18 months we have been chasing FP, 200 plus emails, numerous phone calls, been ignored, lied too and staff rude and dismissive, given the run around all this time and still stuck with a flat with black mould, water coming in and danger with electrics....can not sell it, can not repair it and stuck in misery.
Chris supported: Call for investigation into FirstPort Property Management CompanyI have on my lived in my flat for 8 months but it has become clear that the management of the property Is in some ways badly handled. The car park was damaged by pressure water cleaners engaged by the manager. This has led to potholes forming. These are a danger to people walking into the property but nothing is being done. Clothes driers are on a rental scheme and often do not work properly. Some passage carpet near end Windows has been damaged by the sun, but instead of just replacing the damaged parts they have decided to replace the whole floor carpet at much greater cost. The entrance door is old fashioned but will not be replaced in the foreseeable future. The lighting in communal areas is left on all the time instead of fitting reactive lights to cut costs. The list goes on. Having said all of this I love living where I am, it's just the management that is the problem
James supported: Call for investigation into FirstPort Property Management CompanyThe service charge has increased by at least 10% this year, yet the maintenance remains far below the expected standard. Gardening has been neglected, and a fallen tree on-site still hasn’t been addressed. To make matters worse, management has failed to provide evidence of invoicing for the services we’re being charged for. It’s disappointing because the development itself is 5-star quality, but the upkeep of the grounds and lack of accountability only deserve 1 star.
Giuseppe supported: Call for investigation into FirstPort Property Management CompanyToday I got notification from First Port that the service charge for 2025/26 has increased from £220.62 (2024/5) to £477.58 per month. I am speechless and horrified that these business practices are being allowed and deeply saddened that for leaseholders there is no action being taken.
Tamsin supported: Call for investigation into FirstPort Property Management CompanyFirst Port do not maintain our estate to any standard. It’s a mess. They over charge and then promise refunds that never appear. The annual bill goes up considerably each year and they can’t really explain why. They fail to reply to emails at all sometimes and other times months later after you resend the email. Again false promises. They state they don’t do this and don’t do that on the estate…..so actually do they do??
It feels criminal
