****UPDATE: Although the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024 has been passed into law, it does not offer enough protections for leaseholders and freehold homeowners who pay service/estate management charges. What's more, the protections that it does offer are not yet in force.

THE PROBLEM

For many residents with FirstPort as their property or estate management company, things have come to a head.

Many have seen huge hikes in their service or estate charges, yet feel they are not receiving a good service or value for money.

Sadly, several are being plunged into debt by these spiralling costs.

This is not new but the scale of the problem has intensified. Numerous MPs have raised concerns about FirstPort in parliament, lamenting that even they cannot hold FirstPort to account. 

Through their acquisition of other property / estate management companies, FirstPort are growing.

Regrettably, more and more residents and homeowners are experiencing the "true misery" of having FirstPort influencing their lives.

THIS PETITION GIVES THOSE RESIDENTS A VOICE.

1) upon the new Housing Secretary Angela Rayner MP to refer this to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) for further investigation. Or: 

2) upon the CMA to investigate of its own accord. And: 

3) for additional legislation to be brought forward to help residents drowning in unfair charges and bad service.  

Urgent ACTION is needed NOW to protect innocent residents who just want to peacefully enjoy their homes, with the control over their fortunes that they rightfully deserve.
