I am not a survivor but it's always rubbed me the wrong way when people call videos of child abuse "porn". It implies that all parties are consenting. This, of course, is false. I fully stand for this petition.
I support the petition for Venus Lopez. I have been incarcerated for 17 years and have witnessed first hand the positive young women she is. I have seen the same change in myself in her. Today I am 2 years out and have a full time job completed parole and am living a great life. Venus and her family should be given a second chance at life.
VENUS LOPEZ is my blood cousin. And I unfortunately had to do time and spent time with her not only once but twice. And both times as I spent time with the only family I had in the prison wall she was someone I looked up to. She was always encouraging me, making sure I was ok, but guiding me. She never thought she would have to spend time with one of her baby cousins. She helped me open my eyes and see I was better than I thought. We worked together, but most of all she was always educating herself in everything she could learn or that was offered to us in the prison. My cousin VENUS LOPEZ deserve a second chance. The day I walked out both times I wished she was coming with me. So please spread the word help us get VENUS a second chance. I love you cousin.
People deserve a second chance . I’ve been out now and never went back nor committed a crime again after I served my time. She deserves a chance out in the community to prove herself. She could be a great asset to the outside world And contribute so much of herself if given the chance . After I did my time incarcerated. I got out got my life together and now I am licensed through the nursing board as an assisted living facility Manager and I run two Care homes with 20 elderly patients. people can Change and make the world of difference but she needs the chance to make that difference.
