We recently found that the person who hit Andy will indeed be sentenced to 1 day in jail, credit for time served, and $1000 fine. Plus court costs, they say, as if that is going to make a difference to us. So the county gets reimbursed for the costs of NOT doing anything. Great news. 

We met with the Cobb County prosecutor a few weeks ago and made our case for a harsher sentence but they stuck to the status quo in Georgia. We never wanted revenge nor did we want to send this person away for 20 years. But the sentence should reflect the seriousness of taking a human life. 

The message Georgia is sending: take a life and you get away with it for less than the cost of a new phone. Please share our petition.
