Wattle Hill Kindergarten is a valued part of the local community and provided a wonderful start to education for our three daughters. Wattle Hill provides a supportive and nurturing environment to young learners, allowing them to explore the natural environment and learn through experimentation and self-discovery. Please support this wonderful establishment to allow young learners of the future to enjoy the same start my children have thrived from.

They have helped and supported the early growth of generation after generation of children. Why should such a non-profit organization that has always been committed to contributing and serving the community be closed? We should always support and help them develop better, because they are the hope of our next generation!

The kids loved the program and being able to be close to nature, they explored the learning through such an inclusive and respectful environment with organic way of learning. Parents were also able to bond and form a strong community, this is unlike any other private childcare or kinder program, it changed so many families life and made us understand what is important for our kids growth and really shaped us as parents too! Please do not shut it down!

Sofi creates an environment that is rich in open ended play where a child can be curious to explore and to imagine. We were lucky enough to have both our children attend Wattle Hill Kinder and be immersed in an inspired Reggio Emilia program. The quality of the program that Sofi and Connie offered to my children will always be fondly remembered. It is next to impossible to find an environment like this for children attending their preschool years today. The outdoor space boasts two significant Elm trees and looks over Wattle park. This outstanding space provides children with spontaneous play in a natural setting that fosters all areas of development. The Victorian government needs to use this Kinder as a model for their current roll out of ELC's across Vic. It is vital that this kinder remains open for the community and for so many more families to come.

Amazing set up when picking up my niece and nephew, they could see the transition from each outside area into kinder; removed fear. Kids flourishing, parents happy, community engaged.
Kids health flourishes as do their parents.
Economically this creates less costs for us as more GDP, less time iff work, less stress thus less health costs.
Ethically: we need to walk our talk as we are role modelling; and families, kids, communities matter.
Historically: This is a very connected community with generations coming thru this programs and then even becoming teachers!!
Why: Because it’s the right thing to do.
Solution: Look outside the box at another please.

While it takes him some time to socialise with his peers, the friendships he’s forming there are likely to carry through his educational journey.
The kindergarten’s location, within walking distance, has been a valuable asset—not only for him, but for many local families in similar situations.
Relocating the sessional kindergarten from this area would not only disrupt the emotional well-being of the children, but also impact the sense of stability and community that growing families rely on.
It appears that the Kingston Council may be prioritising financial considerations over the needs of young families. I urge you to reconsider this decision and support the long-term wellbeing of our community's younger generations.
