It’s a shame the community can’t experience the full potential these artists envision their work for. It’s disappointing and embarrassing for a city that prides itself on world class entertainment to not show movies the way the theater was built for.
As a patron of this theater from the “beforetimes,” I can attest to the veracity and importance of everything in this petition. Anyone who’s witnessed the full impact of the floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall image this powerhouse auditorium is capable of producing would enthusiastically agree that it’s shameful for the theater to not be maximizing the service they can provide the filmgoing audience. It’s sad to see the people who used to frequent the theater and pack it out for event spectacles displaced to nearby AMC Dolby and IMAX presentations that now regularly outpace them in attendance for PLF. It’s still a better theater than most but it sucks to know it’s not as good as it could be.
This theater used to be PACKED for Imax screenings before the combo of a damaged projector and the every other IMAX projector in town upgrading to Laser. Now it's rarely ¼ full when I go. In the current climate of more moviegoers seeking out premium formats, this could pull SO many people in and away from the few other smaller IMAX screens in the area. It just needs a good projector!
