Many residents on our block have been here for 30+ years. We understand the pride in ownership. A new ADU was just built in our block. One month with these multiple renters and the block has changed. They don’t care where they park their cars. They could park them in their own driveway or in front of their own house, but they come and go at all hours parking in front of the neighbors’ properties. They don’t understand neighborhood respect at all. They simply don’t care and have a very entitled attitude about it. We are thinking of moving out of state now because ADU‘s are simply destroying family built neighborhoods. It surely is going to drive down the value of the properties we worked so hard to acquire.

It was added to front of property with zero care for design. Visit Pimenta off Centraila in Lakewood to see new 1000+ sq ft 2 story adu (note 1 adu in back of house, main house and now new build). Mind you per homeowner when he is done with this he is buying more property in Long Beach/Lakewood and doing the exact same thing! So this is coming to your neighborhood and nothing will stop him! Lena needs to see this eyesore and put one on top of her property line. Potentially 12-18 people will live next door. Currently 5 cars on street and who knows what will be here with new build. We are just to “accept” this… 23 year resident is now moving! This is just wrong!

Building these insanely large untils take away what makes Lakewood special and quiet! These apartments (because that’s what they look like) are bringing property values down and taking over the heart of Lakewood! Enough is enough!!!!
