I lost several chicks that were shipped to a customer because of negligence by the post office. The chicks were 2 days late getting to the customer and it caused them to perish. The post office allowed them to sit in their warehouse or truck for days. This was devastating.

One day old chicks should be with their mothers, not in containers being shipped like cargo.

I regularly drive behind slow tractors and agricultural trucks on 272 and 264, which are tiny roads and the only way to get to US1 / Turnpike. The traffic, noise, and crime from the proposed density would make living here unbearable

We Overrun by traffic on roads that were never designed to accommodate this level of vehicles. No improvements of police or fire services , we are being dumped on and ignored by our county officials. So tired of hearing it’s part of an approved plan when the county never prepared the infrastructure improvements needed for such a huge increase in population. Many of these areas are unique sensitive environmental areas that should be protected!!! Stop letting developers destroy our home.

Higgins forced an expensive bridge project in Palmetto Bay that will only induce more traffic. A car drove through my fence in the middle of the night a few weeks ago, and the forced bridge is not even up yet. This rural region is a treasure.

Not to mention the overcrowding of schools in the area. Why aren't there new schools being built, just new homes.

Chickens were allowed and common. I was absolutely shocked to find the lot size requirement in White Lake, a place that still feels rural despite its development and proximity to larger cities. Chickens are a breeze to care for and are an educational experience not only for children but also for adults. Too many people have become severely disconnected from where their food comes from and silly regulations like this one don't help. We need to give power back to people. There are so many benefits to collecting your own eggs, from knowing what the hens are being fed to the environmental impact of not shipping eggs long distances and keeping them cool. It's a no-brainer... residents of White Lake should be allowed to have hens, ducks, and rabbits regardless of their lot size.

I have 2 young girls, 5 and 7 at home. I would love for them to wake up in the morning and be excited to run outside and see our chickens. I think it is a great teaching opportunity about responsibility and animal care. More importantly being able to show them where our food is coming from. She has worked really hard to comply with the county variance in the context of her property allowances & we believe it’s only fair that she should be acknowledged as a law abiding good neighbor as things stand now, without any further changes, especially since she followed the direction of the official Bartow county official. Any decision less than this acknowledgment means not only unfairness to her but to all of us since we would then be asking, who will be next to be picked on at the whim of whoever is in power.
