I believe we should care for our brothers and sisters in need, however I believe the proposed location is not the right location for this type of facility based on my experiences as a healthcare professional and the various states I’ve lived in.
Please identify a more suitably non-residential location. Likely the business district, downtown. Where this is additional wraparound support like county hospitals etc.

It’s already blighted and no one travels west of 95 unless you live here. We already can’t attract better supermarkets, restaurants, shopping (unless you want dollar stores). They could just as easily have this facility on the east side of town closer to city hall, the trains, markets, etc. but let’s just dump it as far away from the downtown so it’s swept under the rug.

As a new homeowner, I’m deeply invested in the future of our community and the impact that a proposed homeless shelter may have on both my home and the neighborhood. It’s important to approach this matter with compassion while also considering practical implications for residents.
One concern is the potential effect on property values. While communities that embrace social services can thrive, there’s often uncertainty about how nearby shelters might influence perceptions of safety and desirability. Homeowners who’ve made significant financial investments in their properties naturally want to protect those assets. Not to mention the safety of the children as well as the increase present of law enforcement.
This it s a very peaceful neighborhood and we would like to keep it that way.
