In 2025, more than 800 of us stood together to voice our concerns about the future of our neighborhood. Since that time, one thing has become crystal clear: the Westside of Oakland Park needs a seat at the table where decisions that affect the future of our city are made.

That is why we are thrilled to announce the creation of the Westside Neighborhood Alliance of Oakland Park. We’ve taken that energy and turned it into a permanent advocacy group dedicated to creating a sense of place and improving the quality of life for all residents on the Westside.

We aren't just a name on a website; we are a community in action. We have two major opportunities for you to get involved this February:

• Love Your Neighbor @ the Oakland Park Night Market
  • When: Wednesday, February 11, 5pm to 9pm
  • Where: The Diamond Building, 2701 W Oakland Park Blvd
  • What: Come celebrate the spirit of Valentine’s Day with your friends and neighbors! Bring a non-perishable food item for our "Restock the Pantries" food drive, grab a bite to eat from our wonderful food trucks, and enjoy some puppy love with adoptable dogs from Abandoned Pet Rescue.

• Community-Wide Public Meeting - Meet the Mayor
  • When: Thursday, February 19 @ 6:30pm
  • Where: Lakeview Club Management Office, 2819 N Oakland Forest Dr
  • What: This is your chance to hear directly from Oakland Park Mayor Steve Arnst and voice your priorities for the Westside. Also, Christopher French from the Oakland Park Fire Rescue team will be there to speak with us and to share important safety information.
