The Mac is symbolic of over a century of faith, community, and outreach to all. Repurposing the building respects the love and dedication the parish had for their community.

After a battle between Catholics on which church to keep, Bloomfield is now without a Catholic Church. At the very least, the reuse of this building for COMMUNITY purpose should be the first thing Bishop Zubik allows. The slash & burn demolition of this facility will only make way for a rich developer! Look at St Lawrence OToole. Wait. It’s just a parking lot! Give this building to the community & allow those who live and invest here to decide! Where is the Catholic Church when a community is in need?

Proud Catholic here who is not afraid to publicly criticize the bad leadership within the Diocese of Pittsburgh. I’m tired of the lack of transparency, and tired of seeing buildings torn down that were built with the blood, sweat and tears of our ancestors. These decisions are not biblical and they are not even Catholic. These are just bad decisions made by a few Catholic leaders who are out of touch with the community and our needs. Needlessly destroying buildings and art that was built for God does more harm for the Catholic community than good. Stop being lazy and put forth effort into finding solutions to save rather than destroy. The solutions have been given to you on a silver platter and yet you reject them for no good reason. The reasons given sound very dishonest.

This Church is sentimental to many people in Pittsburgh, mainly people in Bloomfield. Generations of families share great memories with not only the Church but the school. The least they can do is keep the beautiful building intact. Sister John has kept that Church beautiful for multiple years just for them to kick her out of her home.

I was, Baptized, Confirmed, and married in Immaculate Conception Church. And I'm a graduate of the parish elementary school. I can't believe such an important part of Bloomfield won't continue. This historic building is worthy of being saved!

My whole family was baptized, made 1st communion, confirmation, married and had funerals at this church, our church. It is a staple in this community. We also attended the school as well. Preservation is a must!
