Enough construction and building! Why not turn this into another park? We moved to the area hoping for a less busy area to raise our kids and have been sorely disappointed.

As someone who has lived and worked in the area since 2015, I feel passionately about the importance of preserving this garden space. It has been a breath of fresh air in a city block that has seen extensive development. Spaces like this are essential for our community; they provide us with a place to breathe, connect, and nurture our environment. It's disheartening to see that some people only view this area as an opportunity for more housing, ignoring the value that green spaces bring to our lives. I strongly urge everyone to support this petition to keep the garden and maintain healthy environments for our community and future generations.

The community garden has brought together neighbors and friends for many occasions and regular use and provides much needed green space that everyone loves. There are multiple other lots that can be built on, all of which would be able to share this space and continue building this awesome spot that has been thriving at Ogden St. for years now!

This garden is a beautiful, meaningful part of our neighborhood. It is a source of food, flowers, and community connections. I am not currently a gardener but I walk by it nearly every day. It’s a unique green space for gathering. As a new resident, I look forward to getting to know my neighbors by getting involved here.

Philadelphia is in desperate need of public green spaces to benefit the community. Our kids deserve a neighborhood with a vibrant ecosystem in order to grow and learn in their community.

Gardening on these plots has been a beautiful way to connect to the Earth, my neighborhood, and my family! We have gotten to grow veggies, meet new friends, and gather as a community in this garden. Plenty of other lots sit lifeless in the area and are alternatives to developing on our small corner of green and growth. The neighborhood is better for having this space, and I know that everyone who moves into the area will benefit from preserving it.

I've been living nearby to the Ogden community garden since 2021 and can affirm that this space has increased the quality of life for the whole neighborhood. This space has enabled many of us in Francisville to cultivated vegetables herbs and flowers in an area of the city without many green spaces nearby. Not only that but Ashley and Joe have organized block parties, seasonal activities and even helped those of us without cars to get the soil we need to have successful plots. Allowing this space to exist is in benefit to the whole Philly community. Please find other plots to develop that aren't being cultivated by the neighborhood. These two lots named above are beautified spaces that add value to the neighborhood. Thank you.

Redeveloping the garden makes NO SENSE! There are SO many other plots that can be developed. This garden adds to the value of the neighborhood by providing an actual third space and a green space in a rapidly developing neighborhood. I cannot stress how much this little garden brings so much joy to my family's life. I float through this space every time I walk by or visit the local coffee shops. It is a wonderful place to eat your lunch or have a picnic. I have so much pride in this little garden (even though I don't have a plot myself) and I often brag about it's existence to visitors of the neighborhood. Its existence reminds me of the community that I may not see, but is still there. It has a whimsy that many public green spaces lack because it shows the deep, personal care the stewards have for it. We WILL fight for Ogden Garden, trust and believe ✊
