Government employees play a crucial role in society, carrying out various functions to serve the public interest. Recent events have highlighted the importance of government workers, from ensuring efficient service delivery to upholding transparency and accountability within the system. Petitions related to government employees address issues such as fair wages, workplace safety, and ethical conduct.
One petition calls for fair compensation for government employees, citing statistics on disparities in pay compared to the private sector. Another petition advocates for whistleblower protection for civil servants reporting misconduct or corruption within the government. These petitions reflect the commitment to creating a just and efficient public sector that serves the people effectively.
Join the movement to support government employees by exploring and signing petitions that demand fair treatment, accountability, and transparency within the system. Your support can help ensure that those working in government have the resources and protections they need to serve the public interest effectively.
Coups and insurrection come in many flavors. What the current administration and the oligarchs funding it are doing to federal employees and public servants is a slightly less visually disturbing but even more devastating event than the attack on the Capitol. Because no one has been held to account, it's happening again and the chances and consequences of success are absolutely terrifying.
Don't sit on this. Don't let it rest. Don't let the people who have given so much for so long working day to day... scientists, inspectors, park employees... have to become yes-people to a rich man with an ego and the other rich man with an ego who he sold the ENTIRE COUNTRY to.
Sorry. I CAN NOT believe people who ought to have known better (and did) just let any of this go. Please don't let them screw the populace again.
I am a new federal employee (<1 year) and it took over a year to find my place working for my agency. I would love to move up in my agency and fulfill job duties closer to my area of study, but I am so nervous about this trend of belittling language, mockery, and blatant disregard for the Oath I swore from this administration. I am appalled that sensitive information has been accessed by someone without a security clearance or vetted authorization by Congress. It flies in the face of my Oath and makes the ethics trainings I am required to take look like a joke. I will be holding the line. I will not quit. Solidarity forever!
The Federal employees and agencies I work with are some if the most hard-working and dedicated people I know, and they strive every day to make things better, safer, and more equitable for the American public and our country. These attacks on workers, takeovers of agencies by Musk and non-government groups, purging of information and programs... it MUST BE STOPPED NOW before there's nothing left to save.
Government employees are here to serve the public. When everything is privatized the companies will only care about profits. Things like "preexisting conditions" will exclude you from a variety of what are now services for all.
Healthcare workers take an oath to care for anyone, regardless of political beliefs. We chose this profession because in our hearts our goal has been to improve the lives of others. PLEASE stand up for what is right.
As a Registered Dietitian I spent my entire career in public health. I recently retired from Head Start, an educational program for low income kiddos that provided meals. I saw the difference that program and that I made supporting and working through it. Our jobs are valuable and AT THE LEAST due process should be afforded to those who spent their entire careers in their federal or state positions.
My wife became a federal employee three years ago, working in HR. I am a disabled veteran and can’t work due to neurological issues that resulted from my time in Afghanistan. We finally got out of a hole when she secured her GS-7 position. She worked hard—really hard. She did everything she could to take care of me and our two dogs.
Last week, she was let go by the administration because her work was tied to “DEI” policies. All she did was process new employees, set them up, provide courses on benefits, run payroll, and assist upper management in running operations.
My wife took her own life because she was afraid to tell me what happened and how we were going to be homeless again. The love of my life ended her life over her career—because the one thing that brought stability to us was ripped away in just 24 hours.
I am now in the care of my brother, but I lost my wife. I hope someone can give us answers as to why everyday, hardworking Americans—who just want to work and earn a modest living—are being used as political tools.
I have 2 family members who may lose their jobs both have worked tirelessly to protect our planets and it's inhabitants. This is not how you reform spending.
