Abortion should be a right. The right to choose is crucial and because of the overturning of Roe v Wade, several people are unfortunately no longer here when they should be. Gender affirming care is also crucial because no one should govern anyone's body. Human rights include the right to choose!

Gender-Affirming Care literally saved my life. I was going nowhere in it and never felt like I had a place in this world until I came out and was able to start making the transition into the real me. All of this, including reproductive rights, is about bodily autonomy and that is a right which should be as inalienable as any of the liberties and rights we are granted in this country and state.

I, while being a student at HPSH (boo Central >:D) am in full support of gender neutral bathrooms. As a trans student, I feel uncomfortable in both bathrooms, and want all fellow students to feel safe. Also, change in one school boosts change in other schools. Major respect over here! Good luck!

As a parent that was in bay district schools while we had uniforms, I strongly disagree with the uniforms being enforced !! Getting up everyday to find clothes that don't fit every body style or make you feel comfortable is unacceptable! My son is now in middle school has gotten in trouble for a fishing long sleeve multiple times, taken out of class for Columbia being on the sleeve for what ?! That takes away from learning ! The school board is more focused on the wrong things than actual learning!

As a mother to elementary-aged autistic children, two of whom are mostly non-verbal, I am against the dress code limiting color options because I believe it will negatively impact my children's enthusiasm to speak. When they speak, they love to name shapes and colors. They are very interested and engaged in choosing their clothes for school and sometimes a specific shirt can alter their entire mood and help them be successful in the classroom. I was a senior in high school in 2007 when this dress code was introduced and hated it, but I remember that it did NOT include elementary school children. Why does it now?

This new dress code does not allow students to express themselves in anyway. Also why is the school making money off this initiative yet we have no idea where that money is going. Zero transparency. Also this creates monetary issues for many parents. Not only do we have to provide school clothes that are within these new guidelines but also clothes for outside of school. If people are already struggling to live how do you expect people to provide all this extra clothing needed to just come to school?

As a student I believe this dress code is kind of stupid. And when I say kind of I mean very illogical. I’m going to Mosley next year so I’ll have to wear bright orange and green. How is that any less distracting than my black vans graphic tee?? Secondly, if my shoulders and thighs are so attractive to other people to the point that it’s distracting, we have a COMPLETELY separate and larger issue. Also, what’s with banning sweat pants and pajama pants. What’s wrong with them??? Personally I learn better when I’m comfortable. And certain textures and fabrics that I’d be forced to wear distract me more than some sweat pants ever would. Finally, having to have shorts that practically go down to my knees is so dumb. Finding women’s shorts that abide by this dress code is next to impossible. But I’m not going to not wear shorts because we live in Florida for heavens sake!! It gets hot and I don’t know about other people but I get overheated really easily. Would you rather me wear some Jean shorts and be comfortable and healthy than force me to wear pants and potentially cause me to overheat?? Thank you.

School is already stressful enough for us students, and we do NOT need to have a dress code on top to amplify this stress.

Kids are being raised to be used to prison-like environments. Schools surrounded by gates and patrolled by armed guards. Then they graduate and go to a job and sit at a cubicle inside a locked down building with security, key cards, and a fence surrounding it so that they can go home to their gated community. If they do something wrong no matter how slight online or in real life they are canceled or can have their RFID chip turned off and lose access to everything the world has to offer. We were warned about this. Benjamin Franklin said he who would give up freedom for security deserves neither. This is nothing more than conditioning the next generation to be even more susceptible to fascism. This isn't about safety or colors or the money that parents have to spend or sensory issues. This is about something much greater. No taxation without representation isn't a meme. Our country runs on the fact that if the citizenry tells you they do not want something you cannot rule over us any other way. The fact that this council wants to push forward unpopular laws is a form of tyranny. They should be prepared for anything that happens next because it would be absolutely lawful for the citizenry to do anything in their power to remove them for violating their oaths of office. The people have had enough of these criminals taking office and failing to listen to their bosses. WE THE PEOPLE!

I feel as though that with this new change to the dress code that the district has chosen to ignore the concerns of many parents in this county who may not have the financial stability to buy new clothing for their children to wear to school in order to obey the dress code. For instance, 6 years ago when this dress code was active my mom used to have to drive all over Panama City just in order to get me and my sisters the clothing we needed. I feel like implementing this dress code will force parents like my mom to spend unnecessary money on clothing for their children when this money could go towards paying the rent another month or making sure their kids are well fed.
