The topic of LGBTQ+ rights, specifically concerning the gay community, is a critical issue globally. Recent years have seen progress in legal recognition and social acceptance of gay individuals, but discrimination and prejudice still persist. Petitions on Change.org related to the gay community advocate for equal rights, protection from discrimination, and representation in various aspects of society.
One notable petition with thousands of signatures calls for LGBTQ+ education in schools to promote inclusivity and combat homophobia. Another petition highlights the need for legal protections against workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation.
By exploring and supporting these petitions, you can contribute to the fight for equality and acceptance for the gay community. Your involvement can help create a more inclusive and tolerant society for individuals of all sexual orientations.

Thank you so much for writing this petition. I live in MA, and I really want my kids to get the LGBTQ+ education in schools that I never had.
I came out as non-binary only after college, but I think I would have felt much more comfortable coming out to my friends and family who weren't queer if they understood what I was going through, and weren't blatantly homophobic and transphobic. Learning about that in school would have helped them gain that knowledge.
I want my kids to grow up in that environment where they can be safe and will feel comfortable bring themselves, and I think such a law will help. Thank so much for doing this, Emma Roth.
As Jews, a community that has long understood the dangers of systemic oppression and the importance of fighting for justice, we must stand up now for our transgender citizens, who are facing legal and social challenges that threaten their rights and dignity.
We must ensure that we do not repeat the mistakes of history.
It is easy to draw a parallel between Martin Niemöller’s “Then they came...” poem and what we are witnessing today. In light of this, we say...
First they came for the transgender people, and I did not speak out—because I was not transgender.
Then they came for the immigrants, and I did not speak out—because I was not an immigrant.
Then they came for the right to abortion, and I did not speak out—because I did not need an abortion.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
Never again!!
