My daughter is going to 6th grade this year and wanted her to go to the same magnet school as her older sister because of the program they have ,but now since the schedule might change and elective classes might be removed, I don't think that will work for the students , my kids have extracurricular activities and have them do homework for the very next day and not giving them time to do nothing else will make them frustrated since going to middle school it's already a big transition, also they will have to carry all their notebooks everyday because they cannot use the lockers . They need the elective classes to be able to express what they like in school and to let them know that school can be fun and educational at the same time.

8x2 allows students to take a variety of electives and keep them interested in school. So many of our at-risk students are failed by the traditional 6 class schedule; they are denied any elective classes as they usually need to take supplementary classes. They never have a chance to explore their interests. We would be limiting our other students in chance to develop skills outside Math and English. If the district and state are truly pushing career readiness, they would not be taking away the 8x2 schedule.

I don’t understand how the university struggles to see the value in the course. Peer leading improves average Orgo II performance for the students taking the course and provides an opportunity for those same students to eventually become peer leaders themselves - strengthening both their own understanding of Orgo II concepts and providing an opportunity to grow as teachers and communicators. Removing Peer Leading from Orgo II will not only deal a critical blow to the average student’s performance in the course, but also rob future students of an invaluable opportunity to develop as both leaders and science communicators.

Dr. Bliss-Roche clearly cares for her students by providing ample amounts of practice and live help during class through the use of Peer Leaders. The statistics say all that needs to be known: Dr. Bliss-Roche's methods work and having Peer Leaders are an integral part of that success. Without the help of Peer Leaders, I would not be doing as well in the class as I currently am. It really does make a difference when the Peer Leaders have the experience of taking the class with Dr. Bliss-Roche and giving tips on how to master the content and do well in the class. Without the continued use of Peer Leaders, USF would be destroying the hard work Dr. Bliss-Roche has put in to raise her high-achieving scores during the past years and it would be a huge loss not only for future students taking Organic Chemistry II but for the entire Chemistry department.

Compensate Dr. Bliss-Roche for her time, effort, and labor. Preserve the peer leading program!

My Granddaughter is currently taking this class. She is constantly telling how great of a teacher Dr Bliss-Roche is. It is a difficult class for her and the teacher has made the different in doing well. Please keep her. It’s hard to find teachers like her. Thank you!

The peer leaders have been amazing in assisting in orgo Chem 2. From the class lectures, exam reviews, and Friday worksheet reviews, it has made organic Chem 100x more accessible. I have done outstandingly better on all of the orgo Chem 2 exams than any of my orgo 1 exams so far, and it only goes to show that Dr. Bliss-Roche cares exponentially about student success and understanding the subject instead of hating it. Not only that but the opportunity given to the peer leaders is extremely valuable and is a good way to foster community and rapport between mentors and students. It makes the course feel more relatable and relieves some stress when talking to a peer who’s been through the same issue. Dr. Bliss - Roche and her peer leaders are incredibly hard working and deserve the same amount of funding and support as the other programs within the chemistry department.

Peer Leading in chemistry has helped me understand the subject more than just listening to the professor. The past students explain why the answer is correct and show ways to remember it that they used. The professor has 100s of students to account for and can rarely answer the questions asked after class or even during office hours to which some students are unavailable due to their schedules. I have had peer leaders in my organic chemistry 1 and 2 so I can say with experience that I would have failed without my peer leaders to help me during class and motivate me on their own time outside of class.

Full day kindergarten allows us to teach academics and incorporate social emotional time like extended recess, play centers, specials (music, art, gym), free time with friends, and building relationships with both peers and teachers. I love our little owls and want what's best for them. Our kindergarten team will continue to advocate for our little owls! My time at Mt Healthy has been full of great memories with my students and coworkers. I want to continue teaching them about the world and support them as a whole child because they are WORTHY of all this and more!
