Am petitioning the Frisco ISD for a posthumous diploma in honor Austin Metcalf who was an exemplary young man that excelled in every area of his life. As a student of Memorial High School, he was not only an honor student but a role model and an inspiration to his peers, his teammates, and teachers – who's life was cut short at the hands of another student from another school within the Frisco ISD during a school event - through no fault of his own.
Sadly, Frisco ISD has chosen to bend a knee at the alter of NGAN by rewarding his (confessed) killer, Karmelo Anthony, by giving him a diploma even though he had been expelled – verses - taking a stand and honoring one of their finest students by announcing they would be issuing Austin Metcalf a posthumous diploma. They can still correct their wrong and am petitioning them to rise to the occasion.
Heart and prayers go out to the Metcalf family. I know we can never help ease your grief. But we do hope you find a little comfort in knowing Austins life and legacy has reached out and touched the hearts of so many people across our nation, as well as, internationally. We will be praying for justice – but most of all for healing for your family. God bless
I cannot fathom losing a child so young, it breaks my heart everytime I hear of these tragic circumstances. Austin & his family deserve this recognition for all their efforts in raising such a fine young man and for his memory to leave a mark. God bless this family and may this petition help bring some peace to a tragic loss.
This poor kid and his family never deserved such horrendous treatment. Please let these signatures make an impact to at least honor his memory and bring comfort to his family.
I cannot fathom that we can now justify cold, blooded murder on account of someone's skin color. If anyone kills another in a state that they are not defending themselves or someone else, they should pay the full penalty for their actions, instead of receiving a slap on the wrist. My heart goes out to the victim and his family.
What does it profit a school to shape minds but forget the souls who walked its halls?
(Mark 8:36)
Schools talk a lot about shaping the future. But they're also stewards of memory. When a student is lost, no matter who it is, that absence doesn’t just vanish, it echoes. In the hallways, in classrooms, in the spaces they should still occupy. No matter what you try to do, you can't silence that kind of grief. So what should you do next? You acknowledge it. You name it. And more importantly, you honor it.
Giving Austin this diploma says what needs to be said: you mattered then, and you still matter now. That should never be up for debate.
And one last thing, this isn’t about sentimentality, it’s about conscience. It’s about whether Frisco ISD is willing to do what’s right, even when it’s symbolic. Because symbols shape how we heal. They shape what we teach. And doing nothing? That sends a message no one should be okay with.
Call his name. Print the diploma. Let that act carry the weight it’s supposed to, for his family, for his classmates, and for every student watching what we choose to do next.

Breaking the rules and these types of situations to allow the killer to graduate as if nothing had happened is exactly why he grew into the type of person that would carry a knife to attract me, my heart hurts for the Metcalf family and I am praying for peace and Justice like only God can provide
This young man, who worked hard and lived life correctly deserves a posthumous diploma as every child who has reached this point in their lives only to have their future stolen away from them.
I am a mother of twin girls, and have twin brothers. I worry about Hunter, and hope he finds peace. Austin deserves to be honored. As a mother I send a hug to his parents.
Austin deserves to still be able to get his diploma and graduate with his twin brother even though hes not physically here for it he should still get what he worked hard for he didnt ask to be killed he already got his life taken away from him he doesn’t deserve to have this taken from him too. let his family be able to at least have their son to graduate. people can let them have at least that much. prayers to austins family❤️
